Release Lightworks NLE Available

Lightworks Version 12, which runs on Windows (even XP), Linux and now Mac has now been released.

Features of interest are importing of FCP7 XMLs and 4K support for ProRes formats (Blackmagic cameras).

There are two versions, the Free with export restrictions and the Pro.

I suspect they'll start beta testing V12.1 shortly.

This has a number of cross platform fixes including offline activations failing with Free only licenses and added Apple DV formats to supported formats for decode.

Version 12.0.1 has now been released. This is a maintenance build addressing issues that have arisen since the V12 release. Also included are new Colour Correction Preset effects along with 12 new sound EQ presets. There are also new tutorial videos covering all the FX improvements in version 12, including how to get the best out of the new presets.

The fifth Beta of version 12.0.2 is now available

This has a number of fixes, plus the addition of a new bin function to create a bin of shots not used, improved search speed, also ignores hidden Rack and Bin files and permanently ignore empty transient bins from earlier Lightworks versions.

The second Beta of version 12.0.3 is now available.

New Lightworks Beta 12.0.3.B Now Available on Windows Linux and Mac OS X!

This has a number of fixes, mostly associated with varispeed in AAF imports/exports, Also. startup issues on Windows XP (Although still not supported, Lightworks runs on XP) and nstallation errors when new Visual C++ libraries are installed.

This latest build introduces Mob-IDs to AVID AAF exports (MXF only) allowing for the first time, media to automatically relink within AVID, without having to use the AVID media relinking tool. This gives us an excellent round trip tool from AVID to Lightworks and back to AVID.

Apart from fixes this build introduces a new and improved config.dat file with default entries already added and new keyboard shortcut keys allowing users to swap between bins in groups.

Another 12.0.3 beta has been announced: New Lightworks Version 12.0.3.k Now Available on Windows Linux and Mac OS X!

There has been fixes and a few changes: AAF export - sub-clips are now assigned a persistent Mob ID to improve Avid linking, changes centred on bins and dded keybind "Make source into edit",

It seems that there are some new features being implemented over the next few weeks and this Beta will be renamed to 12.5 in order to reflect this, with more to come next week.
