Mohammed Sarmadawy
Hi peeps! I want to become a music video director. I've been watching a lot of music videos and i love the way they make everything seem like a fairytale. Everyone looks so well lit. I've been searching around the web for some of the lightning techniques but it seems that everything i find is for photography. Do you guys know any good tutorials or something that can explain how to accomplish such an effect in video? Here are some examples(All of Ray Kays music videos has that perfect look): http://justwm.files....lacement-pr.jpg I need all the tips and tricks i can get, even if it's not lightning techniques. Editing, pre-prod. etc. everything! Thanks, Mohammed Edited December 24, 2012 by Mohammed Sarmadawy
Tadeusz Kieniewicz
Wow! Sounds like you want us to write couple of books for you:) Try to search this forum instead of asking us to try explain what cinematography is about;) cheers. Ted. Hyun De Grande
There isn't one right technique, because in my book cinematography isn't based on rules but based on emotions. Nonetheless, I can assume that soft lighting and low contrast can have something to do with it.
Skyko Tavis
Either try a gaussian filter in your NL editor, use promist filters on the camera while shooting, or try this plug in to really smooth skin tones and give that glamour, glowing look: http://digitalanarchy.com/beautyVID/main.html
