gustavo godinho
hi. i've been searching threads about techniques, setups, external links and advices on shooting cars on studio, but didn't find anything. how to be fast? what's better: move the camera, the car or the lights? what's a basic setup? :)
Leonardo Brocato
Shooting cars like commercial or old fashioned camera car faked in studio (i really love)???? i think car commercial....it's all about reflection, not to avoid reflection but create with large sources of light, take a look at Bag o lites are the best choice, with budget. You can have power of the hmi with softness of cloth and very large reflections. Great overhead If you have no budget a lot of kino mega tubes could workIf you move the camera the reflection changes so i think is useless to move the car or the lightsAlso ballons like Airstar Gaffair 1.2hmi create a interesting reflection on the car more circular or like fill in for charactersBut at the end of this list of very high budget lights, i am sure that if you can manage as well reflection on the car you can also use simply bouncin boards 6ftX3ft or similar i'm in europe so i use 2mtx1mt or 1mtx1mt with 5k tungsten or 2k tungsten or that is the cheap solution, or using bouncing with hmi's with very strong reflection edges.I hope i helped you a little Leonardo BrocatoGaffer Rome/Italy
