Carl Elsaesser
Hey film community,. First off thanks for all the previous threds; they have proven extremly helpful. I got a question concerning the viewfinder for a Bolex Rex-5. I really want to attach an angle finder like this one here. I'm wondering if there was ever one made for the Bolex or if there is any kind of attchment mount for the rex-5 viewfinder to attach (through a converter?) the one I linked to. Any thoughts on getting something like this for my camera? best, carl
Jean-Louis Seguin
I have seen one. It had the ALPA logo on it but it was an ALPA modified especially to attach to the Bolex eyepiece with three setscrews. Oddly, the ALPA itself is a rebranded and slightly modified Minolta R/A finder. Guest Glenn Brady
I've got such a right angle finder and it carries the Minolta logotype. As Jean-Louis says, it attaches to the eyepiece with three setscrews - although it's got a rather tenuous hold. SRB-Griturn fabricated an adapter that allowed me to fit Nikon DR-3 and DR-4 right angle viewfinders to the eyepiece of my Beaulieu 4008 series cameras. I'm sure the same could be done for any Bolex H series camera.
