Reuel Gomez
I was watching a featurette on the Blu-Ray for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and I saw then using 435s for some high-speed shots and they mainly did it handheld/Steadicam. But from what I understand, the 435 wasn't designed for handheld/Steadicam and/or is too heavy for that purpose.
Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted August 21, 2013 Premium Member Share Posted August 21, 2013 Yeah, it's not really designed for Steadicam work but you can adapt almost anything to a Steadicam if you don't mind wearing out your operator... Christopher Nolan has put IMAX cameras on Steadicams after all.
Alfeo Dixon
435 is a great camera for steadicam, but you should get the vertical 400' steadicam mags that will give minimal weight shifting during the shot. In terms of handheld, its a bit front heavy but not too bad... again, get the 400' mags for that work also.
