Lucas Hubbard
I know this is kind of basic but does anyone have some ideas on showing time passing in a sort film. In the scene my character would sit down and start doing something until hours later her is interrupted. How do I show the time passing without going to a different scene. thanks

Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted September 10, 2013 Premium Member Share Posted September 10, 2013 If it's a day scene transitioning into night, doesn't that already tell you that time is passed?
Randy J Tomlinson
Why not using a Clock in the background ? You can use it decent but clearly eye-catching. Thats for indoor scenes, though.
Lucas Hubbard
If it's a day scene transitioning into night, doesn't that already tell you that time is passed? I thought about that but my issue is transitioning from time A to time B without a fade.
Travis Gray
I thought about that but my issue is transitioning from time A to time B without a fade. ...what about a cut? When I see something go from daylight to night time, I kinda figure it out...
Lucas Hubbard
thanks for the help. I guess it just took some common sense. If it changes from day to night time has passed. :P
