Premium Member Aapo Lettinen Posted September 19, 2013 Premium Member Share Posted September 19, 2013 Hi! I'm adapting some old lenses (mainly oct-18) to the PL mount, and some of them have quite long rear part... Is there somewhere exact dimensional drawings or information, how much the rear part of the lenses can protrude inside the PL mount in certain camera models before it touches the internal filters or other parts, eg. how much there is free space inside the mount? The manuals seem to have only the image plane marked, not where the filters actually are... Main cameras of interest are: Red Epic Red One Arri Alexa Arri Alexa Studio Sony F3 Sony F5 & 55 thank you very much for answering

The optimo DP range won't work on film cameras but will work with the above except possibly the Alexa Studio, however there will be a problem with the new Red Motion Mount.

Premium Member Dom Jaeger Posted September 20, 2013 Premium Member Share Posted September 20, 2013 Should be fine on anything but the Studio, where you need to be careful of the mirror shutter. Angenieux Optimo DPs for example won't fit that one, but will clear the other cameras mentioned. Here's a drawing of maximum allowable lens protrusions for the Alexa Studio:
