Andre Hansen
Hello, I just watched After Life (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DN9sr5wVkik) and was astonished by the lighting, the texture, and the ridiculously unsharp shots that added to the poetic feel. I watched on film in a local art-cinema. Do anyone know if the film was shot on 16 mm or if any special lenses were used? Kind regards Edited May 16, 2015 by Andre Hansen
Vadim Joy
To me it looks like 35mm. Not sure what stock as I guess it varies from scene to scene. Something tells me they used 500T and others.
Michael LaVoie
I love that film. It's one of those gems I'll watch again with someone who hasn't seen it. It usually blows them away. I am pretty certain it was shot on 35mm. THough the DVD transfer is rough for sure and could account for the apparent lack of sharpness. Hopefully it'll get bought and remastered by Criterion. It's definitely worthy of being in their collection.
