Remake of Ben Hur.

A young audience is not going to revisit old films. It's just how it is. We can moan about it, but that's the reality. People want new. They don't want the perfectly fine car from 1995, they want the 2016 model.

The car analogy is slightly off because celluloid is an entertainment art form, not a physical object that owners use to identify their social status.

Young audiences will eventually watch older movies as they become wiser through age. Most movies target a wide "adult" demographic anyway, so it's not like they're all purposely targeting a young audience.

So how do you propose we get that audience without remaking movies?

By telling unique and interesting new stories? Umm... there are millions of them, but none of them are getting made because the film industry is only interested in tent poles or ultra-low budget, where most of those stories can't be told due to budget constraints.
