JB Earl
Does anyone know if 100' daylight loads can be used in an XTR Prod? If so, is the takeup on daylight spool or on a core?
Site Sponsor Robert Houllahan Posted September 11, 2015 Site Sponsor Share Posted September 11, 2015 You should be able to remove the core adapter with a set screw on the side and put the daylight spool on the shaft, there is a small knurled top screw which is in the mag to hold down the daylight spool. Jacek Zagaja
I have XTR and can't use daylight spool (Kodak 2253) - just few milimeters too large and touches rubber seal :(
Boris Kalaidjiev
Can anyone confirm if you can use a normal Kodak 100ft daylight spool on a Aaton XTR Prod? thanks
Premium Member Stephen Perera Posted June 28, 2023 Premium Member Share Posted June 28, 2023 (edited) ....as Robert says, just loosen the screw on the spindle (see image) and lift it off...you will be left with a much thinner, metal spindle onto which you place your 100ft daylight film easily. The take-up is with a plastic CORE and NOT on a daylight spool Although called a daylight loading spool I load it in the dark the same as with 400ft spools....
