What type of camera would you use to film a news package such as the one shown in the following clip?

Below is a news package, and I want to know what type of camera would be used normally to film something of it's nature. How would it be used? What settings would it have? How would recorded footage be treated in post production? Have you ever filmed something like it before? What camera did you use? How did you use it? What were it's settings set to? What was done to it's recorded footage in post production? Know anyone else who has filmed a news package? How did they do it? What did they use to film it? How did they film it? What were their cameras settings set to?

In news there is usually no post production colour correction, it's done in camera because of the quick schedules and fast turn arounds. Broadcast vdeo news cameras vary with 3 chip 1/3" 1/2" or 2/3" sensors, the menu set ups are commonly ones that don't requre grading in post. These can vary from station to station, but examples can be found on the EBU web site made by Alan Roberts, some just use the factory set ups.

Pretty much what Brian said. You generally shoot with any camera, but 1/3", 1/2', or 2/3" CCD sensor cameras are the standard. Settings should be how you want to your shot on air. Sony, Panasonic, and Canon make the most popular camcorder/broadcast type cameras. High Schools and colleges with use cameras such as the Sony EX3 and your local news stations will be using shoulder mounted camera like the Sony DVW-970.
