LA weather emergency

Recommended Posts

It rained yesterday. I was so frightened I just parked my truck right on 134 where it merges with 5 just waiting for it to pass. People were honking and yelling-- they were also very frightened.

Not to worry. The LA riverbed will take all the nasty clean drinkable rainwater safely out to sea.

I was so sure this was a Phil Rhodes post before clicking through. You, sir, are an American who does irony. Welcome to the language of Shakespeare.

If ever there were proof of suspension of disbelief. . ..

Though in truth I am always curious why they don't damn the thing up to catch all that water-- use it as grey-water, perhaps for irrigation. Granted, the cost to build out a whole new water distro system just for that is substantial, but I don't see a good reason why to let it all drain away given the arid environment of LA. Maybe then I could even go fishing!
