Rob Thorogood
Hi all, I have shot a few rolls on my Krasnogorsk-3 and all of them have had this mark on them in the top left corner. When the roll begins there is nothing there and seems to be working as it should be, and then as the roll progresses the mark appears and gets worse! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Mark Dunn
You have a lot of dirt in the gate- you haven't checked and cleaned it lately. So my first though is a chip of film or some other object. It's unsharp, so it's probably behind the gate. Rob Thorogood
Hi Mark - thanks for your response... is cleaning the gate something that i can do myself or a specialist job? Thanks!
Mark Dunn
You can do it yourself. Use non-metal tools- I'm sure others will have a better idea. There are probably some tutorials on youtube. Use a brush, then move on to a hard wooden spatula if any residue remains. I'd probably use isopropyl alcohol. Don't use Q-tips or cloths- they can shed fibres.+++ Remove the pressure plate (and clean it as well) to get at the gate.
Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted October 17, 2019 Premium Member Share Posted October 17, 2019 I don't think that's dirt on the gate, it's not as in focus as the dirt is. It's gotta be something on the front side of the gate somewhere, like a larger particulate matter. Remember, its shot upside down, so that's actually the lower right side of the gate. I bet you'd see it.

Pulldown film chip! Yes, that's exactly what it is.
