Hi everyone,

Selling my Zeiss Digiprimes lenses in very good condition + plus 1 adapter (to choose between 4 possibilities) + Zeiss Sharp Max Back-Focus alignment device

These B4 mount lenses were designed for 2/3''' sensors but they could be easilly adapted to match super16mm format and super35mm format with dedicated adapters.:

I've been using them on an ARRI SR3, the BolexD16, BMPCC4K & ArriAmira and they are lovely.

The set consists in:

Zeiss Digiprime 5mm t1.9

Zeiss Digiprime 7mm t1.6

Zeiss Digiprime 10mm t1.6

Zeiss Digiprime 14mm t1.6

Zeiss Digiprime 20mm t1.6

Zeiss Digiprime 28mm t1.6

Zeiss Digiprime 40mm t1.6

Zeiss Digiprime 70mm t1.6

I almost have all the possible adapters to cover s16 and s35. All these adapter features high quality optics, no image degradation. With the price I would include one. The adapters I could offer with this kit are:

  • B4 2/3" to Super16 Sony E-mount Adaptor (made by MTF Lens Adaptor).  Use B4 2/3" lenses on a Sony FS7, etc in 2k (crop) mode. There will be approximately 0.8 stop of light loss when using this adaptor.
  • B4 2/3'' to Super 16 Micro 4/3 Adaptor (made by MTF Lens Adatpor). Use B4 2/3'' lenses on a Micro Four Thirds mount camera with S16 sensor (for example Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera on 2,6K Super16mm mode or Bolex D16 mft models). There will be approximately 0.8 stop of light loss when using this adaptor.

The price with one of these adapters: 7500€

  • Abakus 132 Converter Lens - B4 Lens to Super 16mm PL Mount //  Converts B4 zoom and prime lenses to PL-mount S16mm format. // S16 cinema PL cinema cameras, Sony F5&F55, ARRI Alexa & Amira S16mm mode, RED cameras .... Minimal light loss, less than 0.5T-Stop.
  • IBE Optics HDx35 adapter // This optical converter magnifies for all s35 sensor cameras to include. There is 2,5 stops of light loss.

The price with one of these adapters: 8000€

Lenses located in Barcelona, Spain.

PM me for more pictures

ps: Not interested on splitting the set.

ps: I've also have the Digizooms and Diopters (+1, +2)  so if anyone is interested in full package with all the adapters I can offer a good price

Hi Phil, thanks for asking, yes they are sharp wide open.

You're correct, if you shoot on super35mm the t1.6 lenses becames a t4, and the t1.9 a t4 1/2. The same applies for the Digizoom 6-24 and the Digizoom 17-112, which are t1.9 The magnification factor for this adapter is x2,6

On s35, for example the 5mm its like a 13mm and the 20mm is a 52mm. The digizoom 6-24 is like a 15,6-62 and the 17-112 is like a 44-304.

On s16mm the t1.6 its like a t2.1 and the t1.9 becames a t2.4. The magnification factor is x1.32

For example the 5mm its like a 6,6mm and the 20mm is a 26mm. The digizoom 6-24 is like a 8-31mm and the 17-112 a 22-147mm

I like them a lot, they're sharp, fast enough, built construction and glass is outstanding and you've an incredible set of focal lengths.

I think it's an uncommon setup, cause these lenses were very expensive and there're not so many sets around. But I think that aside the Ultra16, they're one of the best options for shooting in 16mm.

Hey Marc, I've always been curious about this set up on film I'm glad you've posted about it.  The Abakus adapter will clear the mirror on an SR3 correct? Any mounting issues with the lenses onto the adapter?  Do you happen to have any samples of them used on film?

Hi Cole,

There is no problem using the adapter and the digiprimes on the sr3. Working with them it is like using any given s16mm lens.
