Jonathan Martin
Hi everyone, It's all in the title! I have a Bolex H16, an ESM motor, and a Bolex "power handle" battery; I wonder if I could power the motor by plugging in directly the power adapter used to charge the battery? This would come handy for studio use. Alternatively, is there a specific power adapter for this? Cheers! Jonathan
Jason Thompson
I sell Bolex cables on eBay to connect an EBM or ESM motor to a 4-pin XLR 12V power source. If you want to make a cable yourself, I provided EBM/ESM wiring info in this post. You can use a standard AC to DC 12V 4-pin XLR power adapter. Jonathan Martin
Hi Jason! Your cables sound like a great solution. Many thanks for the wiring info. I'll probably get on touch soon on ebay!
Jonathan Martin
Just in case others are interested, Jason's cable works like a charm. I found a suitable adapter, which I had to import from the US (other option was from China). It's nice when shooting in a studio to just plug the motor and not think about batteries.
