Pretty vague question.. 

The main issue with shooting wide open is that your camera need to be properly calibrated, as Tyler mentioned. Just as your depth of field is reduced out in front of the lens, the tolerances behind the lens are also reduced. And if you taped out, the lens focus marks needed to be checked. These are standard things a rental house and crew would check in prep. 

Most lenses exhibit aberrations at very fast f stops, so you‘ll find the images softer or more flared or lower contrast than if you shot at a deeper stop. Different lenses can exhibit different aberrations. Knowing what your lenses do wide open is part of the cinematographers job.
