Sander van de kerkhof
Hi , I am asked to do a camera test for a network to see with one are up to their standards. We will be using 6 or 7 industry standard cameras with the same lens. I am looking for a way to test the rolling shutter on the different cameras that I can replicate exactly for all the camera’s to make a good comparison. I hope I will be allowed to share the tests here once they are done. thanks allot! sander
M Joel W
You can stack the cameras on top of each other somehow with a crazy rig. Or find a light that flickers at a certain hz and count the bands from it is what I think some places do.
Premium Member Mark Kenfield Posted January 7, 2022 Premium Member Share Posted January 7, 2022 A fan with straight stripes on it is another common test to measure the comparative skew from different cameras.
Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted January 7, 2022 Premium Member Share Posted January 7, 2022 Nearly all cameras made have YouTube videos with rolling shutter effect already. No real reason to test a bunch of cameras since the information already exists. Just google search the camera you're looking for and use the term "rolling shutter" in the name and you'll for sure find the info.
