Matt Boese
I have an Elmo 1012 X-SL that I've used successfully many times in the past. I just took it out of storage and installed batteries and tested it and it seems to be running slow. I haven't actually run any film through it but by sound and visually watching the shutter it seems off to me. Is there anyway to test the speed to confirm that is in fact running at the correct speed? Ive tested the other functions and everything seems to be working fine so I'd prefer to check the speed so I don't have to waste film to diagnose any issues. Thanks for the help! Premium Member Tyler Purcell Posted January 7, 2022 Premium Member Share Posted January 7, 2022 How do you see the shutter? checking it through the gate? It always looks weird when doing that with a super 8 camera, I don't know why. Can you send a video of what it sounds like? I know the camera very well and am in LA. Happy to look at it if you want.
