Jack Jin Posted January 29, 2022 Share Posted January 29, 2022 It seems like the image quality has a very lo-fi and early digital point and shoot look, but the exposure ramp reminds of things that I've seen on film, it also seems like the footage was shot on a slow framerate then speed up. But I don't know how they would make the film look like this, is there any telecine or scanner that degrades the film image like this? Jared Raab Posted February 9, 2022 Share Posted February 9, 2022 This looks like it was shot on film (maybe Bolex?) just by pumping the shutter button. As film cameras slow down, the shutter slows too, and the longer frame exposures cause a brightness ramp. That's why you see exposure ramp up at the end of film takes. It's just the motor coming to a stop. You can probably make your own version digitally, just by key-framing the exposure leading up to the cut.
