Premium Member Stephen Perera Posted February 7, 2022 Premium Member Share Posted February 7, 2022 (edited) I am wondering whether the original Aaton battery 'system' using 12 volts 1,4 Ah batteries on my XTR can be 'modified' to use more modern batteries that are easier to keep charged and whatever other 'better' performance we can get. I have a constant fear of my batteries becoming useless. Please supply options with links. Obviously the connection would be the same XLR style I imagine.... Premium Member David Sekanina Posted February 7, 2022 Premium Member Share Posted February 7, 2022 (edited) I would sent it in to Du-All to have them re-celled. Shops that re-cell batteries usually have a battery tab spot welding machine, that introduces very little heat to the cells, unlike when you try and solder them by hand with a soldering iron, which can overheat the cells and reduce their lifetime. Lance Lucero
I have an early version of an Aaton 7. It has the same type of battery. I recently had the batteries re-celled and they work great.
Premium Member Stephen Perera Posted February 8, 2022 Author Premium Member Share Posted February 8, 2022 Re-celling is the only thing I will have to do if it comes to it haha. The adapter stuff costs more than my camera and I cant justify it. I am not a cinematographer.....
