Joshua Harris
Hi I have bought an Innovision probe 1 lens and am unsure what the mount type is. My current best guess is a B4 1/2" mount - see image here. I would like to adapt this to a panasonic lumix GH4. I attach 3 photos of the lens - two of the mount itself, and one of a screw thread which appears when you unscrew the mount. The mount has a diameter of 50mm and the screw thread has a diameter of 57mm. It would be useful to know whether my identification of the mount type is correct, what else it could be, and whether it is possible to get an adapter. Thanks very much Josh
Robert Hart
It looks like a B4-Mount 2/3" to me.
Joshua Harris
Thanks. I agree it does look similar. Although judging from this photo I would say that the B4 2/3" mount has a slightly wider metal ring around the edge, whereas on the Sony 1/2' mount (and on my lens) the metal ring is narrower. Although it is hard to tell from the image. Thanks very much Josh
Premium Member Dom Jaeger Posted May 2, 2022 Premium Member Share Posted May 2, 2022 Looks like B4 (2/3”). The mount for 1/2” camcorder zooms doesn’t have the locating pin on the flange wing like that, it’s on an inner circular protrusion. Plus it’s much more likely Innovision made a mount for B4 2/3” cameras.
Joshua Harris
Thanks. I think there are multiple different types of Sony 1/2" mounts. For example this one has the locating pin on an inner circular protrusion, whereas this one has the locating pin on the flange. On the Innovision website it says that this lens was available in 1/2" mounts. Thanks very much Josh
Joshua Harris
For the benefit of anyone looking at this thread in future, it turned out to be a B4 2/3" mount.
