I now have the crystal sync software update ready for my 16-speed ACL motor controllers.

The new software allows faster speed up when starting, the motor starts immediately when pushing start instead of "thinking about it for a second" and there is no need to manually rotate the inching knob a revolution or two when powering up the controller. It has better speed stability at low speeds under 14fps.

Optimised for saving some film by starting a bit faster and reaching sync faster, and works more stable over the full FPS range of this controller (about 6fps to 79.999fps).

Paid update but not expensive, if there is some 16-speed user wanting this small upgrade you can send me email (the same you used when paying for the original motor or any other email you have. or dm on instagram (aaplet14) . ) . I also have newer style mounting plates available for 16-speed which make it easier to mount the motor unit to the camera body.

I will try to gain resources for making larger batch of 4-speed motors this month. thus can sell this last remaining 10-speed ACL crystal motor for 900usd with shipping if it is purchased before June 11th. It will only help with the 4-speed project if paid before 11th and after that date the price goes back to 1100usd.

let me know by dm here or on Instagram (aaplet14).  facebook messages don't work.

SOLD!

that was the last remaining 10-speed motor, glad it found a new home!

if anyone else still needs ACL crystal motors, I have the 4-speed (6 crystal speeds) model available for order (650usd without mounting parts, 850usd with ACL mounting parts including shipping). And the ACL2025 motor model is possible to order too for 1600usd, that one has oled display and from 15 to 20 crystal speeds, footage counters etc. and will ship in December2025.

cad designing the 4-speed motor's aluminium body. will 3d print a test piece of out plastic to ensure dimensions and motor drive fitting, possibly this version can be sent to cnc machining already but we'll see 🙂

(circuit board cad model intentionally altered to not show all the details. I already have the final circuit boards and working on the software at the moment)

the 4-speed motor on the ACL.

I am making one batch of these in September2025 and likely no more after that. The default color in the September batch is PINK, it is possible to custom order a black or dark grey motor if placing the order before August 10th.

Why pink?

Much funnier looking! And got some orders of the pink version so it is more economic to make the whole batch pink unless someone specifically preorders a neutral colored version and pays for it.

If I need to store the rest of the batch for later sale it does not matter what color they are so rather make them nice looking 😄

testing a handheld setup with the 4-speed motor on Eclair ACL. worked pretty good, the 50Wh mini-vlock battery is small and lightweight enought that it can be just on top of the handle for now. Notice how I easily attached the rosette to the original camera base, removed the original electronics from the base earlier because they are not needed with my motors. So these new motors make such quick add-ons much easier than with old ACL20250806_153104.thumb.jpg.6f6d08e5cc3b3d89339fb7d0c627be77.jpg20250806_153107.thumb.jpg.326d78f22308242025e62aa7dc71d021.jpg20250806_153113.thumb.jpg.0a602f638cc50c8eafd2eddff903783b.jpg20250806_153119.thumb.jpg.3db805d9a129d7806178bf99468c56f1.jpg20250806_153143.thumb.jpg.fe75ef2938deacd8b404a2eb5301ecf2.jpg20250806_153226.thumb.jpg.84e698de6536630c46d3ee2f689b8fd9.jpg

testing some new inching knob designs for the 4-speed motors. these are compatible with my other ACL motors too and the cad models are available so if having any of my older motors you can test out how they work in your use. Will experiment with different designs in September and choose the best working one for the newer batch of 4-speed motors. Uploaded this cad file today to the folder, untested yet but should work fine in place of the original inching knob on my motors .

there is other useful Eclair stuff in the folder too  https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12p3O38vFi-YxezPMOsjM0SEaOYIr1lmK
