Lighting a Miniatures Commercial

Recommended Posts

Hi All! Hope everyone is doing well ?

I have a product commercial coming up and we are shooting 6 extremely detailed and accurate miniatures sets. I am feeling comfortable lighting the sets with my lighting knowledge, any tips or tricks about miniatures would still be appreciated!

My main question comes regarding lighting the background.I will have 6 backgrounds of differentiating colour and subject matter (sunset, daytime, clouds, no clouds etc.). I want to see if anyone has any tips and tricks for lighting a single solid background sheet. I am assuming a majority of the time, an even light level from diffused sources will get me where I’m needing to be (similar to lighting a green screen or a cyc.) Really open to hearing everyone’s thoughts, knowledge and tips!

thanks in advance !
