  6. Hello Bruce, Everyboby seems to say that the Super 35 modification for the 2C is complicated. I was wondering something about the viewfinder. Are the groundglass and the mirror wide enough to handle the modification so that the entire S35 picture could be seen trhu the VF ? Same question for the 2B... Thanks. Gregory
  7. Hello there, Finally I published pictures of the camera on the net : http://gregpaul.free.fr/ltr Sorry, I can't manage to take better pictures of it at the moment though... Best regards
  8. Hello there, Here is a picture of the Dualdrive magazine. It is mechanic and magnetic at the same time as you can see. (Sorry the picture comes from a cell phone...) Michael, I'll send you a private mail. Gregory
  9. Hello Alain, Yes, AATON made some dual drive magazines. Also I think that they used to convert classic mag to dual drive system but I'm not sure. Nathan should confirm or not. I'll take some pictures of my camera this week and I'll post one picture of the dual drive magazine. In fact there is the magnetic ring and inside there is the gear.
  10. Another thing I forgot... The camera has an internal lightmeter (Option L) wich is accurate.
  11. Hello Nathan, I never paid attention to that fact but I have to admit that you're right. Camera Engineering is an independant AATON specialist but not the official AATON agent. Another thing, shipping for the camera will be from France.
  12. Hello, I'm selling my beloved AATON LTR 7 :( Before it goes on ebay... Description and condition: - AATON LTR 7 Super 16 body, Super 16 factory built. Super 16 ground glass with 4/3 frame. 32fps max. Time Code board removed (unusable nowadays). AATON mount. The body works fine and the registration is rock steady. The viewfinder conformity is perfect. Cosmetically it is in good condition but has some scratch on paint. The wear is relative to its age. With a new paint it would be perfect. Serial : C954 - Super 16 400' Magazine, Made for Super 16 in AATON factory. Dual drive, can be used on any XTR or LTR body. This mag works fine and does not scratch the film at all. Light proof is perfect too. It is in good condition but has paint scratchs as the body. Serial M2380 - Filmtel battery charger, two outputs for AATON batteries. Looks used but works fine. - AATON LTR case for 2 mags, one camera body, 2 batts, accessories... Good condition. - Sound barney, in good condition. - Nikon to AATON mount adapter, perfect condition (AATON made) Camera history : I bought this camera recently from its first owner. He kept it for many years before he decided to sell it. This camera was serviced by Camera Engineering AATON agant in UK. It was over the moon when I bought it since it is a great Super 16 camera. I shot only twice with it and I was really happy using it. The pictures I shot with it were great... BUT, it doesn't totally suit my needs and I want to upgrade. So, as money doesn't grows on trees, I take advantage not having any shooting at the time to sell it. And I already know I'll miss it... Finally, if you are interested, please make me an offer for any part or for the whole. I'll ship anywhere in the world but buyer will pay for shipping. I can send you pictures of the camera as well as a viewfinder conformity film scan and a link to a film sample. Gregory PAUL greg-paul@wanadoo.fr
  13. Hello there, I'd like to thanks all the people who had join this thread and who helped me to handle the X-Ray issue during my trip. Now that I'm back from Indonesia and my footage is safe, let me add comments and talk about my experience. During my trip I encoutered 9 X-ray checks. I was travelling with only 2 rolls of 400' 7201 50D film. Of course I hoped that if I were unable to have the rolls hand inspected, they could pass in the X-ray luggage equipment without problem as they were 50 asa films. I removed the films from the metalic cans letting them in their black bags and then putting them in another plastic black bag. All this, done in a changing bag to avoid any problem. The outer plastic bag was locked with a good looking yellow "DO NOT X-RAY" tape. Generally that tape impressed the guys at checkings as it looked very "official". Each time I asked to hand inspect the films, and in France, China (Hong Kong) and Indonesia, they agreed to do so, each time. I was really impressed by the kindness of the policeman in France who has inspected the rolls (I'm french, so I can comment this... ;-) ) and the kindness of the guys in Hong Kong. Removing the film from the metallic cans helps a lot as they can check it in metallic detector. You just have to take care not to drill the bag during the handlings. My rolls are just back from the lab and of course I had no fogging trouble. Now, I just hope that I'll be able to travel again soon with my AATON and a bag full of motion rolls !! Regards Gregory

  21. Hello there, I have planned a trip to Indonesia during april month. I will take my favourite AAton camera with me and I want to shoot some pictures there. Altough I plan to carry 2 or 3 400' 16mm rolls with me. I do know that my motion picture rolls should not meet X-rays in airport... But I'm worried about custom controls. I'll carry a changing bag with me and ask for a hand control. But do the guys at customs agree everytime to inspect the rolls by hand ?? Can they refuse to do so ? I'm afraid of that problem. I should meet at least 8 controls during my trip, it should be boring if each time inspecting my rolls by hand is a problem... So I wonder if somebody has an experience or advices about that. Thanks for help, I'm really worried about that ! Gregory

  25. Hello, I have a LTR that I'm very glad to own. Altough when you use the test feature the exposure time is limited to 1/4th of second. I wonder if it's possible to update the LTR to the XTR possibility of long time exposure ? As far as I know when you keep pressing the test button on the XTR, the shutter stays open. If the LTR is updatable, is the update software and/or hardware ? Many thanks for help and long life AATON ! Greg
