  1. Hello, I am just looking for a quick reference, one sheet jpeg type layout color wheel possibly, or something similar for walking into a lit room with two or three different types of practicals (recessed tungsten's), fluorescent and daylight through the window. Take some digital snapshots and then use this quick reference to figure out my color temp balance while still using these practicals. Make sense? Shooting in a couple chapels and everything is incredibly strict....incredibly. I need to mix these just right, hence my need for a reference sheet. Would anyone be able to provide such a thing? I can typically deal with it in post but this much mixed, I can tell from the still shots it is going to be a nightmare, just plain ugly. Andy
  2. Hello I am looking for the original article posted by David Mullen, ASC from his on set shoot of his movie The Quiet, but I think the article was called Dot but I cannot find it after many searches. Would anyone know where I could find this or have a link to it? Thanks Andy Yeomans
  3. Here's an easier link to my portfolios of work without having to go through the front page. http://www.dpcine.com/DPCine/My_Albums/My_Albums.html Is there a lot of cinematographers on this forums site that also do photography? I'd like to see some links to other portfolios if anyone has them. Since I started in photography first, is that also a love for a lot of you? Andy
  4. Thanks but no lensbaby in there. I do own one though. And lately I've just been so drawn to nature that that's what I've been focusing on if not commercial stuff. I love to fill the frame hence the Manu close ups. And all my cross-processed work is uncorrected. I just love the beauty that the process gives. I'm a huge fan of deep green tones. I plan on expanding more but I tend to stick with what I love at the moment. A couple close ups in the nature section were forced perspective of bonsai trees. Andy
  5. Hello, I've finally started to build my online photography portfolio which was way overdue. It's definitely not complete but a continued work in progress. Please feel free to check out some of my work or pass it on. I just thought I'd throw it out there. Andy http://www.dpcine.com/DPCine/Welcome.html

  7. Hello everyone, I just wanted to announce a website that me and a few colleagues launched this summer following the Hollywood and Independent filmmaking scene in the Detroit area. It's a clean ad free site with informative content including news, podcasts, reviews of local independent movies and interviews of local filmmakers. http://www.MadeByDetroit.com Please check us out and comment on what you'd like to see or if you have any info for the area. Again it's mainly for the Detroit area but we try to cover the whole state where it applies. Michigan is poised to become a big player but is looking at some trouble with the proposed tax incentive cuts. This isn't any type of ploy, we just want to get info out to people. As a filmmaker myself in the area, I love spreading the word. Thanks and enjoy if you visit. http://www.MadeBYdetroit.com Andy Yeomans

  9. Hello, I'm looking for imformation about Tim Suhrstedt, ASC's lighting techniques, lens choices and any other information that was used to shoot the movie Office Space. Was there an ASC issue with anything in it? Any help would be appreciated. THanks Andy
  10. Wasn't Speed Racer filmed with the F23? I could be wrong Yeomans
  11. Mistake, I did find a component to HDMI. So how do I get a signal directly from the camera to the PC flat panel? Thanks Andy Yeomans
  12. Hello, I have a Sony FX1 HD camera and I was wondering if I can get an HD signal to go directly from the camera to an HD flat panel monitor? This is a PC monitor with an HD resolution and I am trying to find an adapter to go from Component to DVI-D and if that would even work. However, it doesn;t seem like they even make an adapter for DVI-D, only DVI-I. But here is what I found: 1. A cable that goes from DVI-D to HDMI 2. A cable that goes from component to HDMI If I use these two cables together will I even get a signal to the monitor? If I do get a signal, will I even have and HD signal anymore with that many connectors? Thanks Andy Yeomans
  13. I know what kind of diffusion he is using, but I want to know what kind of filter to get to achieve this since I am not buying glass filters, but plastic (due to budget restraints).
  14. So I've been using the Cokin P Series filters for still cameras on my Sony FX1, and I have a question if anyone has used these filters before for HD. I want to get a net filter, but I'm not sure which one to get or if it will even give me the look I am looking for. Of course I love the look of Kaminski's nets but short of making a frame to hold some netting, will any of these filters give me that look? Should I get black or white netting? I held on of these filters today and saw that the netting is actually just a painted grid of thin black lines, and I'm not sure if this will take away from the actual texture of the real netting. I have a soft filter but it doesn't give me the look I want. I want those Minority Report, War of the Worlds type net look. Thanks Andy Yeomans
