  1. JH3 deck - waveform monitor - some type of blackmagic.....AJA ...Kona HD video card-Final Cut Pro HD.... And of course some storage.... It will cost about $20,000 -$25,000 to buy all this stuff....or what I do is just go in to a post house and check out the stuff I shot before I edit it. Modern Day Dailies.....

    Filters for HD

Anyone know of a good filter set for landscape/night/day use? Other than the basic polarizer or star filter or ND filters.....?
  4. Ive worked on 12 films.....all in florida. Ive traveled out of the country before. But not with my $130,000 HD equipment with me. This is going to be an adventure just getting their I think. Its pretty much just going to be with my cinealta holding a mic and following everyone around. This will also be my first time DP'ing anything. Of course im practicing ....cause I got my own stuff. Im getting a carnet and double checking every peice of paper work I need. Im not going to get detained or have my stuff revoked from me when Im leaving. But, my other quest is.....Ive never been the head guy to get stuff into film festivals before. How do I go about submitting this into the festivals?

Anyone care to explain the differences?

    4:4:4 vs 4:2:2

Besides the fact that you can scan a possible 4k vs 2k scan. Wouldnt 4:2:2 be the more cost effective way to shoot in HD? It would take some really smart eyes to know the difference between the 2. Would just like to know anyone else thoughts towards the HDCAM SR format.
  7. if its the same stick.....it should work.
  8. who do you get the stamp from?
  9. So, even if my insurance will cover traveling to the ukraine, I will still need something to show customs that the equipment is mine and will always stay with me?
  10. I own everything. And yes it is insured.
  11. Full sail didnt have any HD camera's in their film program. Until 2006. They just got OK'd for a Film Bachelors program. 21 months = $59,000. The education you get is probably going to be better than any other film school. Eventually. School is school. I graduated from their with a 2.9 gpa and I was stoked. I remember in high school their were always those people that said school sucks. Its a part of life. There will always be someone that does not agree with something. Eventually they learn to accept it. And life goes on. School .....is school. Its education on learning film. Now that I went ....im glad I did.....because without as much education I wouldnt know how to light anything with my CineAlta.
  12. Im traveling from Florida to the Ukraine in June. This will be the furthest and first time ive ever gone on outside of the country. Any hints on how to make sure all the equipment remains safe and nice. Im bringing all this stuff along - W-F900 Sony "CineAlta" HJ22ex7.6B Series Canon HD Lense 2 stage carbon fiber vinten vision 250 tripod Astro Systems 6.3" HD - SDI Field Monitor 16x9 mattebox I do have the big olympic case for the camera and accesories. And a case for the mattebox....as well as a soft case for the tripod.
