  1. Thanks Dom, The rental house has an EF mounted Mini. ( They told me it is for the Drone shoot.) I got Sigma cine zooms today. I will compare those on prep day at the rental house. Yeah, anamorphic filter is totally toy tool, but sometimes I use them for my DSLR when I feel do something on the lens like make a flare with torch light. Maybe I use cine zooms for this time for my AC do his proper job!
  2. Thanks Albion, I think Sigma cine lenses are much shaper. I should go with less than F2.2 or 2.5 with my photo lenses, because there is an anamorphic element on rear glass. It will appearing some vignette on the edge of the frame up to f2.8. I don't wanna have like master primes sharpness and agree with sharp image is not always right answer. Somehow I try to get Sigma cine lens and compare both photo and cine sigmas. Probably Sigma cine is right for this time, it will almost handheld with electric cart, following running people. I need more stabilized focus gear for my AC. Thanks again.
  3. Hello, I'm going to shoot for low budget commercial with Alexa mini. Because of the budget issue, I might have to use my own Sigma EF zooms 18-35 and 50-100. I've never tried EF lenses with alexa. I'm worrying about I'll have less sharpness and low resolution looks. I'll go with 16:9 censor 3.2K mostly, sometimes 2K 200fps. I was thinking Sigma cine zooms are better choice but director wants to get anamorphic looks. My own EF sigmas has vid atlantic anamorphic modification filter which looks nice, so I want to use these even if it is fake anamorphic. http://www.vid-atlantic.com/products/cinemorph-mod Anyone have tried ALEXA with EF lenses? Could you give some reviews and advice? Thanks.
  4. We will shoot at 25fps base(50fps, 75fps also) using Arri235 in the train where has 60Hz fluorescent lights. Set the shutter angle at 150 degrees and shoot at 25fps base seems O.K., but Arri235 does not have 150 shutter angle. It only has 144 degrees shutter setting around 150 degrees. Does everyone know how is going to be the result shooting at 144 degrees and 25fps under the 60Hz fluorescent lights?? Should I set at 24fps base and adjust the fps in the post production? This is for the Europe production means should shoot always 25fps...

  6. View finder seems necessary using in outdoors. Even concerning price and functions, Leica Disto A5 sounds good. Thanks for your info Dave. Is there anyone who knows AC using Hilti laser meter??
  7. Hi, everyone. I'm thinking to buy a laser range meter and researching about it. Now, I think the best one is Hilti PD32 because it has a telephoto lens to measure a far point. It's very useful to see a laser point clearly under daylight in outside as well. However the compact Leica meter looks attractive, too. Please tell me your best laser range meter for AC jobs!
  8. Thanks for your info, David and Tim. It's a big help for me. I'm still researching about the relation of flicker, shutter angle and FPS. I need to completely make it clear about it. If I got some questions, I'll make a topic again. I changed my name to real, sorry and thanks for your notice, David!
  9. Simple question. We'll shoot under the regular fluorescent lights(not kinoflo or HMI) with 24fps and shutter angle is 90 degree. The area where we will shoot has 60hz. I'm not sure I will get a flicker thing on the film. Would anybody answer this or tell me any info about the flicker things??
  10. I'm going to shoot a music video with pro8mm 200T, which is color negative film. This film has ISO200 for tungsten balance, and ISO 125 for day light balance with 85 filter. I will shoot in exterior without 85 filter, because I wanna bluish image. Then, I have a simple question. When I shoot in exterior without 85 filter, should I read a light meter with ISO 200 or 125?? I'm just confusing about it. Could you give me a help?? Thanks.
