  1. check out this shot: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnL3bEXx8ZM...ted&search= its taken from Santa Sangre. Shows an eagles POV. Was it done with a helicam or sth?
  2. i guess you mena set the aperture to it?s widest setting and then use ND, otherwise if u minimize exposure n use ND, u ll get pretty much sth looking black. no?
  3. I was watching LOST, and I was amazed by the depth of field, i saw in many shots. Do you think it is viable to get such an effect using an HDV camera? And if so, how to go on about achieving such an effect, if you dont have an interchangeable lens or adapter. thank u in advance
  4. hi jaan, i thought so too at firt. I tried using it, well yes with the default settings the outcome is pretty lame. u do get some interesting results if u fiddle around. As Capt.Video requested, i will post my result onto the critique my work, for further creative conversation. That will happen around 20 March. I finish shooting on the 14th, (if all goes well!!), and then its back 2 the drawing board...
  5. Thank you all for your time you took to reply to my question. Actually this is going to be my last shot for the movie and I am not going to have a real baby to shoot. So after the POV its fade to black and end titles. I am going to try putting vaseline onto the lens, that should be sth to definitely try. I was also thinking about overexposed unrecognisable blurry images. i am going to try and handle the camera as if it came out of the mothers legs. Was thinking of loud subsonic sounds. Am thinking of trying use of After Effects, and see if any filters make sth catchy (Final Effects: effect-distort-CC Split) as some people have suggested. Am hoping for the best, since that is the last image that the audience will see. Regards Mario
  6. Hey all, i am in the process of making a movie. I have a shot where a baby is born in a delivery room and there is a shot where I have to show the POV (point of view) of the baby coming out to the world. Would u have any clues or ideas on how to achieve such effect? re:spex
  7. i would like to hear an example of what u mean. Maybe u can point out how i could have cut better? What transition would u use? I know i m not good at the camera, but i always thought that my strong point was the editing, so this is the first time i hear a comment about it, and i am really interested 2 hear some other point of view.
  8. Thank you all for the time you took to review my clip, and to answer to this thread, It was shot using Sony DSRPD-150, no lighting was available, just a tiny reflector, on the external shots. All the colours u see are during post, which was done in Premiere, + some old film fx plugin. I couldnt agree more on some points with u LondonFilmMan. As far as story is concerned, i had shot also some other shots, in an old building where the guy painted stuff on the walls, and they kissed passionately under a window where sunlight hit their faces. The horrible thing, that i havent understood until this day is that , that tape didnt record anything of that shooting, even though both me, and the camera operator were 100% sure the camera was recording. In addition i thought in the beginning for the guy to place the picture he saw inside the book, inside the little temple. But then i changed my mind, from the fear of becoming kitsch and maybe unrealistic. No one at least here in Greece, places pictures in such little temples of the deceased. Both of them are actors. LondonFilmMan I like the fact you intellectuallised things, and took the time to actually propose ways for showing different events about their relationship and how to climax things. Many thanx again for everybody's replies... peace
