good day or evening to everyboy I want to build a dimmer for a car interior night shoot, I will use a convertor that will give me 1kw output from the cars battery at 220v ( I'm in Romania). My plan is that from the 220v plug of the convertor i go out into a household hardweare store dimmer and from the dimmer I go to the bulb( bulbs) that I have outside the car. I will use a cable with two wires. For each bulb I have such a sistem, cabe-dimmer-bulb. My question is: Giving that I will shoot in winter, probably very humid and with a great chance of snow outside, is it safe to have a dimmer built like this? I'l make sure to isolate every conection and the bulbs themselves but is that enough, will I get burned? so, simplified: two wires come out of the convertor (220v/AC), enter into the dimmer,than go out to the bulb. is it safe?

Hi, does anyone know the aproximated sensitivity of this camera, does it work in natural lowlight conditions, is it at least as sensitive as the PD170?

if u are doing a documentary then i guess you want to catch reality as it is in those locations, so i would advise that you use as less light as possible, maby none at all for the wides, and for the closeups try to catch the caracters in some ligten spot of the location, if that is not enough than I would use a small 500W on the faces directed so that it would give the propper detail and seem to be coming from a source that is actually in the location, lateral ligtins seems to work most of the times. But than again, it all depends on your aproach to this doc from the cinematography point of view. Good luck

Hi, I'm new on this forum and I'm from Romania, so I might sometimes wright badly in english, but I'l make myself understood, I hope! I'm preparing a short independent film witch takes place in a Taxi around the city during one night. The money for this project comes from my pockets so there's not a lot of, I'm Trying to build some sources that I can feed from the battery, has any one of you done this before? are there any advices? Can I build some Kind of a Dimmer for a "passing light effect" something like "Night on earth"?
