Hi Mitch,if its possible I would like to hear your take on the new Sony HDV in comparison with the HVX -200 Thanks
  5. Hi All,I hardly post here(still kind of shy to do it I guess)but I do read it a lot and I have to say all you guys that come here discussing and always sharing experiences and knowledge in the forum are very inspirational to me.All of you from the students to the more experience people like David and Claudio. I also look up to Lazlo Kovakz(Easy Riders and Five Easy Pieces are my favorites),Jean-Yves Escoffier,Darius Khondji,Heskell Wexler Conrad Hall and Willian Fraker(specially because Rosemarys Baby) and Robby Muller. I am very interested in films shot in New York.I think Gordon Willis and Owen Roizman are the cinematographers that best portrait the city I chose to live and work. Happy new Year to all of you.
  6. I mesure the light for my DVX 100 with my lightmeter set at 640ASA and it seems to be accurate . My footage improved a lot since I started shooting video using a meter by the way
  7. Try the UCLA extension film and television program. You can either finish the certificade program or just take especific classes .They have really good cinematography classes(you can base your whole certificate around them as I did)if you are more in to directing I would suggest a very good class called "Cinematography for directors" as a starter. Its not so expensive, very hands on and its in los Angeles a place wher you can breth film technical knowledge. Good Luck www.uclaextension.edu
