  1. Hey guys, So I shot some scenary stuff for my film with a bolex, and at the beginning of the roll, it seems like everything is going in fast motion. I shot at the lake, and hte water at the lake seems to be moving very fast, yet I know for a fact that I did not switch the frame speeds. I shot it at 24, but it seems like I shot it in 18, but then closer to the end of the roll, the footage begins to slow down a bit, does anyone know why this is? Thanks. Goodwill
  2. Hey just wondering if you did use the best one light print or did you actually do a timed print with transfering to the MiniDV? I just wanted to know if you did just do a one light print, did the image turn out to be good? Thanks. Goodwill
  3. I also don't understand why the timed print onto film is cheaper than the timed print onto MiniDV. Does film even look good when transfered to MiniDV? Is the image superior to the image of say a 3-CCD digital video camera? Goodwill
  4. My final product should be a minidv or a DVD.
  5. Hey guys, Just another question for a newbie filmmaker. I was wondering when transfering to digital from 16mm film, is there a very big difference between the process of transfering it through one light or doing a timed print transfer to minidv? How much will the picture be improved? Is it noticable? Does anyone have any clips for example of the different between a one light transfer and a timed transfer? Is it worth double the price?
  6. Hey guys, I just shot my film today, and I had a lot of underwater shots, and a lot of shots in which the lighting kept changing due to the constant flybys of clouds and such. I live in Vancouver, British Columbia, and was wondering how much it would cost to get my film processed with the development people looking and correcting the lighting, and how much it usually costs to get things color corrected. The place I am probably going to is Rainmaker, in vancouver as I have a discount card, but I wa sjust wondering how much something like this usually costs. Thanks! Goodwill
  7. Ahh, I am shooting in less than 11 hours!!! If there are no suggestions, wish me luck and I will tell you how it all goes!
  8. Hey guys, I am shooting a scene underwater with a Bolex H16 Reflex 16mm camera. I have built a fish tank that will support my camera, and I have a Bolex cord trigger thing to run the camera when it is in the fishtank. My question is, which lens should I use, and how should I should I over expose when I shoot it? I will be shooting it in Black and White negative Film stock Kodak 7222. The problem I have is I will have to shoot it blind without looking through the viewfinder, with my actor infront of the camera underwater. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get the best results that would be awesome! I have done it before with digital, but film from what I have learnt in the past year is very VERY different! Also, the lenses I have access to right now are the 10mm, 25mm, and the 75mm. I find it hard to focus with the 10mm though. Anyways, any suggestions would be much appriciated! Thank you! Goodwill
  9. What do you mean if the mirror locks? This is only my second time using 16mm Bolex film cameras, I find it VERY different from the digitals, but the film school I am at, has all the first years using the Bolex's, they just kinda send us out and tell us to make a movie....
  10. Hey guys, I'm a first time poster here but the site is awesome! I have just one question, I was shooting a film today with a Bolex Rex3 I believe, and I had to change the lens from a 10mm to a 75mm. I had shot one scene with some light sets set up on the location, and then after I was done that scene, I changed the lens right on the spot. I was just wondering if my film is going to fog up now because of this? Thanks for any help you guys can provide me with! Goodwill
