Does anyone know how the Eye Piece of a Nizo 6080 is removed? I want to ask before I try to screw it off (and maybe force it).. Thanks in advance. Shawn

I currently do have it under PC control using a DMX Windows App (more features than necessary), ideally, I need to write a simple app that will control individual intensities and have presets that are optically calibrated (though variables in installation will change this). Manual/Analog control of the individual channels is acceptable when using CineCap with Windows. Of course, you can use White only (in most cases, this would be the primary way), RGB channels or all 4. Benefits of course, no hot spots, availability of LEDs (vs bulbs), heat, etc for frame by frame Telecine. Shawn Most DIY Projector mods do not allow the use of the original bulb setup without modification again (most that I know of).

Hello, I have developed (prototyped) an Optical Source that allows Optical Color Correction for Eumig line of S8 Projectors (would work with others as well) - useful for DIY Telecine. It uses Luxeon 3W emitters and can use just the White color source, RGB or both (or all 4 channels) at one time, with independent brightness control (0-100%) of each of the 4 channels. The Luxeon emitters are in custom aluminum heat sinks. I originally planned to used just one channel (White Luxeon) but added RGB support. The mod could be either one channel (white), 3 channel (RGB) or 4 (white and RGB). Opal glass between the light source(s) and gate is ideal. This config does not act like a electronic shutter (flashing LEDs like the Flashscan8), but is very suitable for frame by frame (3 - 6fps) Telecine (Eumig's are great for this). The Mod will require very little modification to the projector itself, you can revert back to the standard bulbs. I will post more info and pictures in the future if anyone is interested. I still have some fine tuning to do. Future additions planned will be a PC connection via USB for PC control of the individual channels. Shawn

Fred, I see you are using a Eumig Mark S 810, I modified a Eumig Mark 610D. As far as the camera, did you choose the Model #DFK 31AF03 or Model #DFK 31BF03 ("A" or "B")? In the picture on your website (http://www.super-8.be/s8_telecine_imaging.htm), is that the Sony 45mm Macro lens attached to the camera? Lastly, where did you buy your Sony 45mm Macro lens from? :) Shawn

Hi, Is yours a 5008 S Multispeed? (I believe the Multispeed, not MS model is the latest of the 5008 series??)...The other 5008 S Multispeeds I have seen had needles, perhaps they were older versions... In Auto exposure mode, what does the RED LED indicate (f1.4? over/under exposure?)

For both indoor and outdoor, would it be a UV filter or something else to help protect the lens? Thanks Shawn

Hello, I just received my Beaulieu 5008 S Multispeed Camera.. I did not receive a manual but I have a pdf version. In the Beaulieu Case side pouch, there is a piece of paper with the following on it: ___________________________________________________________ Do NOT disconnect lens if main swith is ON!! This Beaulieu 5008 S Camera is equipped with 800mA NiMh ,,green'' accu whis has NO memory effect! If this camera is one of the latest models with viewfinder LED: RED LED: ,,TEST" - red light = low currant aperture ,,MANUAL" - red light = wrong manual aperture setting aperture (Manual or Automatic) - strong red lght = f1.4 Sound control - right VU level = slight flickering red light GREEN LED: Sound control - flickering with sound from microphone or connected tape ____________________________________________________________________ And, yes, spelling is as above... :) My pdf manual states a viewfinder needle with a notch on the right side (while looking into the viewfinder). There is not a needle (or needle movement?) and more importantly, no notch at all. There is the LED on the top of the viewfinder. Does anyone know about a 5008 S Multispeed model that uses a LED for the exposure control system instead of a meter (in the viewfinder)? If a model exists that doesn't use a needle, I assume from the note included that I don't want a RED light for proper exposure (in manual mode), but what about automatic exposure? Thanks in advance..
