  1. Hi: It's occurred to me that it would be great if we could email, discuss, etc. with people in our area, that we could actually meet. For instance, while I live in Indiana, I am really in the Chicago area. I belong to the Chicago IFP, but there aren't a lot of opportunities to get together with other filmmakers. Perhaps there something going on that I don't know about, or a website I could be directed to. Or a Chicago area filmmaker... Schuney
  2. Great! Your posts have been very helpful. While I admit to shooting with the DVX I am still quite passionate about my love for film. I'm glad to know that you all feel that 16mm or Super 16 still has a healthy future. I'm glad for this forum, as a place to share ideas and learn.

  5. I'm also here to learn. I read posts, but I don't want my account to disappear.
  6. Hi: I've been reading forum posts for months, learning everything I can from you all. I am largely a self-taught filmmaker working in digital using the Panasonic DVX. I've been shooting some short films (15-20 min.) with an eye to expanding. I've always been interested in shooting 16mm using an Arriflex camera that I'll probably purchase on Ebay someday. But, I'm worried about the future of 16mm, whether film stock and processing will continue to be available. How do you all see the future here.
  7. Hi: My experience with the GL-2 is that is has a magenta push! It regularly white balanced as too red or magenta causing me to stay away from purchasing the camera. Later, I read a review of the camera onlne and it complained of the same problem you mentioned. Of course, Canon didn't know what I was talking about. :) I have several GL-1s and they don't have this problem. You may well be able to cheat the camera with a slightly colored card. Experiment.
