  1. Hi, Can someone post a list of all the canon dslr cameras with video feature..... i have searched enough... did not find a list anywhere. Regards Siva
  2. OOps..... i think i made some mistakes in the post....... those filters 80D and 81B are camera filters...... sorry for the error...... my aim is to correct the color temp of the lights only......... these bulbs are basically home lights....... we have fixed this on our own fixtures..... the colour temp of the warm bulbs are 2700k and day bulbs are 6500k as mentioned by the manfacturer....... these bulbs are from PHILIPS....... in our earlier projects we have used these day light bulbs without gels to get a mild green tone. i was going thru the lee website and found the following result. The Calculator in the following page says this: http://www.leefilters.com/lighting/products/mired/ Original Source Value (kelvin) 6500 Converted Source Value (kelvin) 5500 Mired correction value +28 mired of Eighth C.T. Orange (223) +26 Original Source Value (kelvin) 2700 Converted Source Value (kelvin) 3200 Mired correction value -58 mired of Quarter C.T. Blue (203) -35 Hope my tones will be under control........... Regards Sivanesan
  3. Hi, I want to correct the color temperature of my lighting kit...... is the following convertions is correct? Film's Temperature 3200 Light's Temperature 2700 Mired Correction -58 Correctin Filter 80D Film's Temperature 5500 Light's Temperature 6500 Mired Correction 28 Correctin Filter 81B Regards Siva
  4. thank u nash for the DB.... Hi Andrew, i do not hv acess to waveform monitor. I will be using a computer monitor (with a tv tuner box to convert VGA to composite or S-video). The DVRack is now shifted to Adobe premeier CS3. Although we have acess to Adobe premeier CS3, i dont't want to go that because of the short Firewire cable and also i have to use to my laptop. The LCD will most of the time give wrong colour info, particulary black and shadows. Regards Siva
  5. thanx for the reply adrian, yes ofcourse like u said it varied a lot........ i was very confused while metering and comparing........ although i checked it with close shot only....... to get a proper skin tone in various light conditions like: full Shadow Shadow in Foreground full top light direct sunlight im very confused........ it was not reacting well with exposure marks in the lens..... finally i think i should rely only on monitor....... that is tweak the exposure ring till i get the right one. ANY HELP ON exposure Compensation of DB (+ or -)

  8. Hi all, Can't i work with a 500GB External Firewire Storage - Lacie, for HD. Initially i would like to work with few minutes footage only. Say I shoot for 10min and edit it to 2 or 3 minutes. Regards Sivanesan
  9. Hi Chris and all, Im just trying to understand the workflow of HD..... this topic is almost one year old...... but still informative...... While trying to know about the current scenario...... my dealers in india are telling me that we need to have fiber channel card and fiber storage for fcp hd online. Is it true that i need to have such a huge storage system for this. This alone cost about 10,000 US dollars for 1 TB storage (excluding G5 system and Decklink HD dual link). They also mention that even if i need to do a pilot project or a atleast a TVC..... i need to install all these. Is there more resources on HD workflow. I did not find any sucess with google. Regards Sivanesan
  10. hi. if u need i can mail u some pdfs i have.... my mail is sivanesan2000@rediffmail.com Regards Sivanesan
  11. Hi David, First of all i am very glad to get a reply from u, I have read many useful posts from u........ so thanks for those great posts and reply. My problem here is that we don't have proper support in our locality..... probably in the whole country........ and the second thing is we also dont have such budgets. So there is no chance for test. My producer will not agree. I have failed in convincing him. As for now we have made budgeting with Sony HVR-Z1 or Sony D-50. They would fit into our budget. The production is much interested in Sony HVR-Z1, because of the FireWire support which would bring down the cost of editing. They want to skip MY FAVOURITE Sony D-50 with this reason. Ofcourse our budget can afford a Betacam edit also. I have a confident in Sony D-50 results. Buth the thing which bugs me is the Interlaced output of the Sony D-50. The Panasonic HVX200 has not been yet launched in India. Incase of its availability at the time of production can I go for that. Because its my next choice to d-50, for its (HVX200) Progressive output, color sampling of 4:2:2, more pixel resolution and finally firewire for my producers sake. Regards Sivanesan
  12. Hi Stephen, Thanks for reply..... we are planning for Feature film........ we would be transferring it to film later........ In case of cosidering film transfer which camera is good. Regards Sivanesan
  13. Hi all, I have used the DVX-100B and Sony D-50, when shot with found DVX-100B i found that its not greater than the D-50. Now i would like to know wheter this HVX-200 is a better one than D-50. I would also like to know whether somebody has made a compared study of the DVX-100s, Sony D-35 Sony D-50 HVX-200. Reagrds Sivanesan
