  8. Hi guys, this will be for a feature film, not a documentary or enithing also, this is for a movie. I already discarded the idea of using the H1, so this leaves me with this choices: A)Panasonic HDX900 B)Sony 900R C)Viper FilmStream I know each has different prices and needs but as far as my budjet goes for buyng the camera this all are in my budjet, but I look in to it to find out wich one for the money gives me the best choice in image, workflow, storage needs, editing and final output of the finish product, never using film but going to a final product of 2.235:1 cinemascope widescreen mode. I know the Viper will go strait to theather with no manipulation of image size. For the Panasonic and the Sony I could use Canon 2/3 HD-EC cv235 Anamorphic converter or cropp, just like to know in order the best options from those that know more about, unlike my self. And I do not stop to appreciate the help that I get from all of you, wrilly. Thanks much, KETCH ROSSI

Hi Olex, I will be dilling only with HD in all they will be no film envolved in any stage of the project. Hi Lance, some good advice has been given to me in other topics and one is to go with the new Panasonic HDX900 with Canon new Anamorphic converter or just cropped in post; or use the Panasonic new HDX900 to be also a great camera and also proposed to be used with Canon Anamorphic converter or croopped in post. If you have a knowlege of the price of the Viper I like to know to see first of all if feets in to my budjet to buy one. But also please give me an input on choicec between this. Thanks much, KETCH ROSSI
  10. Thanks Shannon and Micheal, your input is definatelly very much so appreciated. To answer Micheal Q. first, I'm looking for the best choice to my needs for purchasing the camera and everything also. I will be in Italy and on top becouse this project will have many celebrety Cameos, the time frame for shooting will have to move arround there scasuals, immagine. So renting is not an option, I have to buy everything, infact I'm buyng a trailer to fit with lighting, generator, camera editing and audio. I will be putting all I got and not only money, but my resorces are contained. The way I see it, this is my only chance! As far as your inputs and choices I also was certain that the H1 would not have been a good choice for me but as it was suggested I listed to get more opinions on it, wich you just confirmed my opinion. As far as the Sony F950 I was under the impression that it could do 4:4:4 so to shoot direct to 2.235:1. As far as the Viper goes I know I would have to used with there Venom in camera mount wich will hold 10 minutes of shoot in the 4:4:4 mode. I have not find out the price on the Viper, wayting for the rep. to get back to me, and I wil see if is in my budjet. And I will continue to appreciate any inns and outs to the best choice to make and what goes with it. Thanks much KETCH ROSSI
  11. Thanks Shannon, I think I read one of your reviews on stabilization systems, as I also was looking to purchase one. Thanks much. KETCH ROSSI
  12. Hi guys, I will catch the opportunity to cut in this forum'm topic becouse you are talking of aspects and cameras that are cyurrently in my list of possible purchase for my project. I will be shooting HD and need a final output of 2.235:1 for projection in Anamorphic, widescreen, cinemascope theathers in Italy and France for festivals shoing clips and for final project to be previewed in full. So I look now for advice in wich way is the best to achive this. Using a Canon's XLH1 cropped in post to match 2.235:1? Using Panasonic HDX-900 cropped in post to match 2.235:1? Using any 2/3 HD camera pair with Canon's new Anamorphic converter to get 2.235:1? Using the Viper filmstream or Sony's F950 to get 2.235:1 direct Please advice as this for me is a very important decision to make, so to insure the best image and the best investment in equipment that I can make, without waysting money in the wrong camera or system, or getting somenthing to make my work and that of those working with me double difficult. Sorry if I have burged in to this topic with this question and forgive my typos, If I have distorbed this topic please direct me to the most appropriate topic. Again excuse me but I do need to get this info and I try to search and ask anywere I can as my project is to me as important as nothing also can be in my life. Thanks much, KETCH ROSSI

    Anamorhic lenses

Hi David, if your post is directed to me, yes the cinemas are all equipped with Anamorphic 2.235:1, 2.237:1 and 2.239:1 projection systems, in Venice, Rome, Milan and Nice wich will be the first places were I will be screenning the first clips of the film. But my main issue remains in wich way to go it will be best for quality picture vs. budget. I explain: If the finish resolt I need to get is Anamorphic format of 2.235:1 or so, wich is the most used way in cinematography today and wich gives the best resolts. Cropping, use of Anamorphic during shotting or use of a camera that those that natively. Options, procedures of production editing and post in each choice. Thanks much, KETCH ROSSI
  14. Hi evry one, looking for strong but expirience and sincere advise on my best available options to get a final product in 2.235:1 wide screen cinemascope projectable image. As now I stamble accros this options, wich is better? A) Use of a 16:9 HD camera ( 1/3 or 2/3 ) and crop the image in post. B) Use of a 16:9 HD camera ( 2/3 only) and use Canon new Anamorphiv converter(HD-EC 235) and HD lenses for a true HD 2.235.1 C) Use of 2.235:1 HD capable camera as the Viper filmstream or Sony f950. This are my options as I know them, it is obvious that I like to have as much input as possible from all of you in this forum. I will be shortly moving out of the US and go back home, in Italy for reasons to do much with my unfortunate health conditions and to do the project that is as important and more of wath is left of my life so I wrilly would appraciate much your advices on this important decision to purchase the right equipment for this movie so to get the best resolt possible. This project will have many famous Cameos and Italy's most beautifull women, so the project will have a subsained ammount of media coverage, also becouse of my condition the story of the project and the fact that I will be donating 50% of the profitts to a US Professor for Medical Research. So as you can understand this is a project that on one hand will give me tons of free coverage and exposure but on the other it will be like a double edge knife, ready to cut my hand if I do not make carefull use of it. In site of all of this my Heart and soul are dedicated to this project, and so I ask your support and kindness, also I excuse my self for the typos I know will be ever present. Thanks much, KETCH ROSSI
