  1. Now selling through Barbara at Newprovideo, so give her a shout if you're interested. https://newprovideo.com/equipment/product/latest-listings/canon-cn7x17-kas-s-cine-servo-17-120mm-t2-95-pl-mount--2
  2. Price drop to $19,900 ONO...I need the money for beer chaps.
  3. Canon 17-120 in almost new condition, owner operator, has never been rented. Tiny scratch on the outside of the lens, otherwise it looks as new. Front filter always used, glass is immaculate. Payment by wire transfer only (you can fake cashier's checks so won't accept them), I'm known to the guys at DC Camera, Visual Edge (Washington DC) etc if you want to check my bona fides. Happy to validate ID etc any way you'd like. Box, manual, lens hood, 127mm filter all included. High Res pics available here: https://my.pcloud.com/publink/show?code=kZe7G07ZiJkvCnEuOMhDO5tXEYT88XfHm0dy Serial # 93811399 $20,900 ONO
  4. I work in news magazine and I'd love to move away from the Joker 200/400/800s I use, the ballasts go down, bulbs break and crap out, don't strike etc etc. However there's nothing (I think) at the moment that can work as hard sources, use in S/M Chimeras, pancake/chinese lanterns etc. Is there anything out there that can do the job of a Joker Bug style HMI? I wish someone would make a bug LED/Plasma.
  5. Travis as an alternative you may want to have a look at the Australian Wally Dolly...the Aussie and the Brits love the thing. www.wallydolly.com
  6. I use it with a Sachtler 20p tripod and heavy duty legs with a PDW-700 XDCAM camera, no problem. Have also used it with a Long Valley Seven Jib and a 5D MkII and that was fine.... Check out the gallery on the US website? http://www.wallydolly.com/gallery
  7. The Wally has just been reviewed by the guys at Newsshooter.com.... http://www.newsshooter.com/2013/10/23/video-review-the-wally-dolly/
  8. I have and like the Petroff matte boxes. They're very light but hold up well. I have the 5x5 and use it on a PDW-530 and PDW-700, it's huge, but it's the only one that will work with the 11x4.5 lenses using rotating filters. It's light enough to use as a clip on, or you can use it with rods. http://www.petroff.ws/
  9. Hi, I've used one quite a few times, but with SD cameras (SX, XDCAM) It removes vibration and hand shake from hand held. From a helo it smooths you out at, but does not completely stabilise your shot. Remember that it is an optically clear (almost) liquid between two glass planes that you are shooting through....hope this helps?
  10. Was wondering if anyone had used this combination? I am thinking of getting a Pro35 to use with a Sony PDW-700 XDCAM HD camera. I can afford (just!) the Pro35 used, but would need to use Canon FD L series primes that I already have. My main concern is the my widest lens is a FD 14mm 2.8L which will become a 22.8mm (Crop factor is x1.63 from full frame 35 to Academy - as long as I have that right) This is around 7mm in a 2/3" lens. Not that wide. I can't see any other options for getting a wider focal length...PL is out as it's too expensive. I'm looking for the film shallow DOF, thus the Pro35. Would love to hear anyone's experience with photo lenses on a Pro 35. Edit - I mean Technik!
  11. Thanks for the quick reply...the Sony site gives it F11 @ 2000 Lux (not 200) is that what you meant? Sorry to be ignorant, but does this still make it ISO 800? (I'm not sure how to do the math you see.) I am curious now while on the course what it is..definately will test it when returning home (Israel), although I think I will be a bit busy!
  12. I'm at the Maine Workshops in the US doing adv Lighting and adv cinematography. Anyone know the ISO of the PDW-530p? I would be interested to know now as we are being taught to shoot video film style using a light meter. Cheers, Chris
