Has anyone seen this Showtime series? Any thoughts or details about the shooting of it?

It's the same as Laguna Beach. SDX-900 with Hi Def Lenses.

Hisham Abed, who DPed Laguna Beach, was the director of "The Hills." He also DPed the opening sequence to a new MTV show called "Moves" which should be airing in a few months. The Hills and Laguna Beach both rent from Wexler.

Most of the time I have shot 24f I have either set my shutter at 1/60 or 1/48. The only time I would go above 1/60 would be if I was specifically going for a strobier look to capture action or movement. I just worked on a show about dancers where all the dance scenes were shot at 1/250. It's a great look when used properly but can be really distracting if used unnecessarilly.

I've always been told color first then diffusion. I don't know why though.

Don't get me wrong, I learned a lot as a PA and it was a very important and educational time for me. I'm just glad that time is over.

I would say take the best job you can get to get you started in the industry. Then while you are working keep your eyes and ears open and don't be afraid to ask questions. I didn't go to film school I got a job as a PA and learned on the job. But, yeah, PAing does suck.

I am having a problem with color drift in three cameras. Three of the four cameras I am shooting on are shooting yellow. Once the camera starts to drift it seems to get worse the longer the camera is on. I already checked all the menu settings and they are all identical. Any ideas?
