  1. The shot which is a good example of the problem is a wide angle of a building and as a moving tram goes through the frame I pan to follow the tram. It is not very fast at all. During the camera move the video of the building actually jerks or appears as if it is skipping frames. Maybe I should not have said it is strobing. I played this back from the camera to a 17 inch Panasonic 1710 monitor. We also imported the ftg. into a FCP system and it did the same thing. I believe the solution is to shoot in 1080i/60i of which I intend to do and see what happens. I have shot the same thing with an HVX 200 at 720p30p and it does not have a problem. It may be that an EX3 with a rolling shutter just has different characteristics than a CCD camera. I have shot with a RED Camera and never experienced a problem such as this. Thanks for the comments.
  2. Filmed a test on a new EX3 today. Footage looks great as long as I don't pan the camera. All ftg. was shot at 30P 720P. I have never experienced this problem with any other cameras. It doesn't matter how fast or slow I pan the strobing or blurring is pronounced. However, I put the camera on a jib and the boom up did not produce the same effect. Thanks in Advance for your help.
