  1. ELMO F20S-XL Super 8MM Camera This camera has the WIDEST Super 8 Prime Lens ever on a SUPER 8 Camera - 4.6mm. It has a 200 degree shutter and runs at 18fps only. The camera can shoot on silent and SOUND cartridges. It also accepts the 200ft FILM MAGAZINE and the very rare SUPERMAG 400. In decent shape. No fungus or scratches on the lens. $60.00 USD.
  2. It's grainy already. But if you really like grain - PUSH it. I've shot music videos and television commercials with. I like it better than all the curent Vision stocks.
  3. Forget 5219. It was created to be less grainy. Shoot on 5229. It is ALOT more grainier than 5219.Pushing 5229 one stop will add more grain. I shot 2 short films on 5229 and it was just the right amount of grain that I needed. If you can get a tobacco camera filter, that will help add the brown you speak of. Shoot filter with a 35mm slr or digital camera to see results that wil be somewhat close to how the filter wil color the scene.
  4. It's just wrong. All wrong. The only thing they got right... is Snake Eyes. Destro is some lanky wimp . No mask. Destro, with no mask , WTF !! The cool thing about the cartoon and comics was that each soldier/bad guy had thier own weapons/costume/abilities. The Hollywood movie looks like some X-men rip-off, with those lame-@$# tight black leather jumpsuits. Some things should be left alone..Like "The Last Dragon" remake they are about to churn out . ARGHH!!!
  5. No biggie. I'm just glad a true ASC DP actually takes the time to help and answer questions for us not so experienced guys. I really enjoyed your work on Astronaut Farmer, BTW.
  6. The filmstock is KODAK 5274. Sorry David, you had it wrong. I got the ASC issue at home. It's from 1999. I can scan the article and post it if anyone wants to read it.
  7. ECLAIR Cameflex CM3 35mm 400ft Magazine. $100.00 USD This is the 4 perf version not the 2 perf Techniscope version. It can be converted to 2perf. In good shape.
  8. I saw that one , too. It's easy to see where todays wild anime themes came from. I like to enjoy a good Ninja/Samurai movie ( Shinobi No Mono or Ninja Wars, for instance), but I thought Hanzo:the razor was ....ah-ight, more like borderline porn. It was shot anamorphic like a lot of those films of that era. Unfortunately, the latest Sonny Chiba Ninja movies( KAGE NO GUNDAN 2) are shot on HD, look TERRIBLE. I'm really hoping one of those producers decides to switch back to film.
  9. That's good news. I was starting to think KODAK was hell bent on making future negative emulsions that lean toward flat lifeless colors. 5279 ( which is still available from KODAK until Janurary) DOES have more CONTRAST than 5218. I like it's grain better, it's more "organic" looking. 5219 pushed 1 stop has interesting contrast, also.
  10. I scanned the magazine. Give me your email address and I'll send them to you.
  11. I've shot with both within two weeks apart. OCT18 is better. To me at least. Someone else may feel differently.
  12. I"ll scan the article and send it to you.
  13. Sorry David, you're wrong. The film stock use was EPP . 100VS is the same as 5285. EPP doesn't crossprocess the same as 100VS. There's an article about the movie in American Cimeatographer. It's in one of the fall 1999 issues. I have it somewhere around here.
  14. Three Kings was shot on this : KODAK EPP Ektachrome 35mm Reversal/Slide film: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/2742...chrome_100.html The DP, Newton thomas sigel had kodak make custom rolls for the movie. He then crossprocessed the film in negative (C-41/ECN-2 ) chemistry. The link above is a 100ft bulk load of film. It working in 35mm motion picture cameras that DO NOT have registration pins.
  15. Karl, I am definitly interesyed in your service. I shoot alot of film on a regular basis. I bought a bunch of RGB's film the week they were closing thier doors. I also reload the canisters with short ends that I use. Send me a message when you are ready. Thanks

  17. I just finished watching a 35mm print. The IMAX scenes have a very nice "bigness" to them. The IMAX shows of Batman are sold out - the whole weekend. I liked the first film, but this one was even better.

  22. Check out this one: Color Correction for Digital Video: Using Desktop Tools to Perfect Your Image by Steve Hullfish, Jaime Fowler You can read some of it in Google Book Search. It's full of practice, concise info.
  23. Shoot it. You'll like it. Overexpose by about a 1/2 to 1 stop. Recently, I shot some 5248, 5296 and 5287 recently. I'll posts some stills.
  24. All is well in Konvas land. some guys move on to more expensive gear/better paying gigs. Me I love em ta death. I am shooting a feature this fall with several of those cameras. There are still more people learning about the camera for the first time, tired of chasing the digital chicken.
