  2. HI The produser told me that there is a rendal house in London wich we can rend anamorpic s 16 lenses . Hi did it on a project that i have never seen that . You thing that there is any opion to blow up squeez s16 to 35mm 1:2,35 ? I can understand transfered to video but direct prinding ?
  3. I am going to shoot a short in super 16 format and the producer-director ask me if i can do in in anamorphic s16. I realy have never done something like that i don't even know if there is anamorphic s16 if there are any lenses available for that and what to do at post if i can print on 35mm and wich aspect ratio. I anyone knows or if there is other post.
  4. Hi Chris I own a 2c camera and i was trying to purchase some 16 volt batteries from used camera sellers . All the bateries that i bought had to be recelled so i meda my own to baterie company to fit to 2c cable and they din't cost a lot. Thet work perfect.
  5. Hi Melvin I own an arri 2c camera. A good package of an arri 2c will is going to create for you hight quality pictures for your movies.( crystal motor, pl mound) At Europe this camera is still working alot for steady cam use for handheld use commercials music videos and alot.
  6. Hi James I have used in past for a feature film a studio pedestal in interiors ofsmall house that we couldn't use a dolly. I used it with my 2c camera in a non sync shooting the results where excellend. If they can crane smooth you will save alot of money. I used it with out controls with wide or normal lenses. Just use a video assist and a lcd monitor for the camera man.
  7. Yes i said the most not all the money .And dont forget that in Eurimages have specific money for every country. My point was not for the money of agelopoulos but for not to misundestood that there are Greek producers for that kind of movies. Agelopoulos and his crew suffering all the time to get the money.
  8. Hi Craig this lense is like the canon 25-250 T1.8 for old video cameras I own an eclair npr s16 an before the convertion to b mount i usualy woking with this kind of monsters. The c mound of the camera never damaged. BTW you must be very carefull and if you are not sure get support. I might have suport for this lense but i i have to search in my old ware house. NO MONEY OF COURSE.
  9. Max I know that Agellopoulos is a very special person i have meet him twice or three times and i don know him very well. I know that he use to give alot of freedom to Arvanitis for the reason that they done all the pictures together from the first one. They are doing alot of work beforshooting at the locations. SORRY The most money of Agelopoulos films and all greek films are from the national film center ant the national television. Here in grece there is no one produsing feature films. Only shorts or coprodusers after the finance of the national money.
  10. MAX the film cost around 5 millions euros about 7 millions $ and you must know that is very expensive for Europian and specialy Greek production. The money that technicians and actors are around the one third of USA. HI JASON Arvanitis is a very common name here in Greece if you visit us for vacations you will understand. Wi have the best light and the best islands. B) HI SAM Yes you are right the "Meadow" is the first part of a trilogy i thing that he must start shooting the second part but not sure. My friend Demitris Makris is the producer of that second part. I know that he is going to use willem dafoe for the leading role.
  11. Hi Max You done the best ordering the Greek edition of the dvd Two a day before yesterday i was with the produser of the second part of the trilogy who told me that Theo done a very careful work with the dvds.As a Greek cinematographer i have to make a point to the work of Theos DPs Giorgos Arvanitis and Andreas Sinanos.
  12. HI If you can use pany p2 use it and if you are not sure about p2 cards just get focus hard disk. btw you can use also xdcam as 350 1\2 ccd progresive mode and works perfect on avid. Ant if you have an avid liquid use jvc hd110 the best transfers to film after i tested all prosumer cameras.
  13. I have done a project the summer using eterna 250 t s 16 and the film was very good. In interiors ihad used 4 dedos and an arri soft the contras was very good and the colors were perfect. I a scene using fluoresent lights warm white was desaturated alot. Not grain at all. Even after the blow up to 35.
  14. Hi There is no problem with the phase of your screen just get in menu of the screen and fix the colors a litle wormer if you are using tungsten film. if you are shooting full frame of the screen you can fix the litle diference on cc. If your scrren is just plays in scene the is no problem of the little color diferense. BYT if your are going for blowing up full frame lcd screen try to get a screen with the less grain in the market. cheep screens blurs the image. USE LC3 filter for lower contrast.
  15. I don't thing that a used dv camera will be very expensive and its better for lighting tests than hi8. I am not sure that Tubes are warmer than ccd. I also thing that ther is no way to shoot shorts with a good picture quality going under dv.
  16. Hi whats the focal length? BTW i own a scheider 50mm for my 2c I realy used it only once but the picture wasn't good. It is not very sharp as the zeiss I use palanars and sonnars and distagons. They told me tha schneider is good for b+w. I tryed to give it but none want's it.
  17. Hi Use nd gels on the windows of the car are not very expensive for a student. But i like the outside of the car to be a litle burned from the inside .It looks unatural if they look the same.
  18. Hi You have done a very good choise. I own an npr converted to s16 with arri b mount. Is a fine comera. I had done about 40 projects with this camera and the images are very good. I use a zeiss b 11-110 zoom a distagon 16mm and a distagon 25mm also sonars and planars from my 35mm camera.
  19. Hi Try the arri For the film in documentaries i like to use 500 T because is not easy to use lights in some interiors and gives better exposure. The interiors are interiors they don't have to look like exteriors.
  20. Hi I own an eclair npr s 16 is an fine camera with the arri b mount i have alot of lenses option for use. I have done a lot of projects with this camera and the picture is great. Good for handheld filmaking easy magazin loading. The only problem i had was the motor runs out and i replace it twice.
  21. Hi You can use your still camera but its beter to use a lightmeter and specialy a spot meter any way reversal as i was told is the best way to learn but negatif while you dont have a light meter is best to correct at the post the exposure mistakes. Have a nice shooting and enjoy it.
  22. Hi Brian My English are not very good yes you are right i was talking about the camera gate. BTW I tested the camera today and the lense was not at the center of the gate so the frame was like half circle not just vigneting. Only 35mm lenses might fit. Tthe ground glass couldn't cover s 16 was a litle shorter. I thing that i am going to crash the camera on produser head
  23. Hi Why dont you try 320T? It is the most closer to 200T.
  24. Hi Stephen The replay for the camera type was to Leo Anthony Vale. I agree with you the camera on ebay is a GSMO. The camera i am talking about is a cp 16r converted to super 16 with 172,8 mirror.
  25. HI SECONIC is a very good exposure meter also minolta and gossen are also good enouph. Why are you shooting reversal film and not negatif? Reversal is good for first timers to learn exposure.
