  1. Yup - looks like none of the Kodak S8 stocks perform too well past about 600nm+.....
  2. Has anyone any experience of using Infrared (or near Infrared) filters with Super 8mm film - any advice or experience would be helpful. I'm looking at using one with Plus-X or Tri-X. As ever, many thanks,
  3. The blue stars at about 15 seconds in are amazing - they really "pop"!
  4. I do have some sympathies here - I'm forever being chastised for my film "clutter" but wont give any of them up - fight the power! Do you have a loft - stash 'em up there - you keep the cameras, she'll never know, unless the loft needs lagging and she likes the smell of fibreglass in the morning! (Note: I have never used this strategy so don't vouch for any outcomes and recriminations!)
  5. I noticed this today too - sadly a lot of the old-school Super 8 websites have gone with the close of AOL hometown. We have updated links on here... http://homepage.mac.com/onsuper8/shoot.html
  6. Steve, I don't know of anyone in the North that does - if you ever need an operator with camera just ask (cheap rates ya de ya - based near Manchester).... Cheers
  7. As we promised donkeys ago - but well worth the wait - the Halogenuros project in HD on the podcast.... http://onsuper8.blogspot.com/2009/01/halog...on-podcast.html Enjoy!
  8. Here's the link to the article including SD and HD versions; http://onsuper8.blogspot.com/2009/01/halog...on-podcast.html Enjoy!
  9. The Ferryman was, my other films have been a variety of telecine and processing by a range of suppliers in the UK and elsewhere including some I've done myself - I like to mix it up - all part of the fun!
  10. See; http://onsuper8.blogspot.com/2007/08/to-fi...-to-filter.html This film was shot that way; http://www.vimeo.com/2256473 With Pro8mm Fuji Etrena Vivid 160 and Vision 2 - it won a couple of awards!
  11. This is Single 8 that I shot a few years ago - no image stability problems here (considering it's underwater - obviously hand held)! http://www.vimeo.com/1422197 Usual applies good camera + good telecine = good image.
  12. Brian, As I understand it - and please correct me if I'm wrong - they don't process small runs, well at least affordable (for the non-pro) prices, hence "everything going to Europe"? btw - great site - i've not happened across it before! Cheers
