  1. Hi Guys, I got 6 ARRI SR I Prime Lenses (W/arri Bayonet mount) and I want to buy an HD camera (U$ 10,000 budget) thinking in future 35mm finishing. I know that I need an adaptator for the lenses, but my answer is: Which one? (16mm lens with SRI mount). Any Advice?? Best regards to all, alvaro
  2. Hi guys, I'm a cinematography instructor and evey time I have to talk about the normal lens, I have multiple options about what it understands for a normal lens. There's more than one Cinematography Instructor, and of course, more than a NORMAL LENS idea: (Example for 16mm format) 1.- Normal lens is twice the diagonal of the format (12.7mm in 16mm, so the normal lens is 25mm). 2.- The diagonal of the format (12.7mm in 16mm, so the normal lens is 12mm). 3.- The format (so the normal lens is 16mm). So, the NORMAL LENS is 12mm, 16mm and 25mm. Any new option?? please vote. best regards to you, alvaro cortes
  3. Hi everybody, I?m going to do a project about Tape-to-film process. I?m thinking to shoot with most of HD cameras and Minidv24P cameras (Panasonic and Sony), and then see ?in film? the differences. I?m looking for some information about this kind of tests, mainly about ?setting the camera? (standard) and the ?correct? way to manipulate the information in post-production systems to not alter the results in film. I really appreciate any kind of information about this. Best regards, alvaro cortes Santiago de chile CHILE

  9. Hi guys, I spent some time in NY in 1998 (a long time ago...like Lucas says) and I need some "city guide" for a friend of mine that go next week to the Big Apple (for 10 days). He wants to go to every place that a cinematographer have to know. I told him about CSC, Panavision, Du Art, Kodak in Rochester (Anybody know how to go???). Please, he has been commissioned by me to get "all" the information and free stuff about ALL (we are a little far from you and we don't have the kind of access that a cinematographer love to have). Please, if anybody can help me about this, I really appreciate it, guys, Best regards to you, from this far (but Beautiful) place, alvaro cortes santiago de Chile CHILE South america PD.: I saw las week "Northfork" (in a DVD illegal, but in good shape (sorry David...My only option) and I really love the "mood" of the film, and the beautiful compositions, like my students (I told them that the main cinematographer ia a kind of guru to us, and now, is an ASC member ...something more to wish??? , so Tell to David that even in Chile there's people that love his work...

  11. Hi guys, my question is about something that in this days sounds (I'm not really sure about) lika a myth. Is Fuji film cooler than Kodak film??? Certainly I know that the film (emulsion) itself never will give you the "look" or "the color" of your movie, but at the same lighting conditios (white light, a gray card, a macbeth color chart...) is fuji film cooler than Kodak film??? best regards to you alvaro cortes
