David What I've done is record to a Firestore using the QT record mode then offload the clips to your computer(a media hard drive), then using QT Pro you can trim the clips, save them, rename them and upload them. Jim Thanks for the reply, I did do some tests with the shutter speed and came up with some possibilities. It's really about the "look" and the like you mentioned about getting a crisper action, which you can accomplish, and which is what I was really trying to provide. I know what I like now it's a matter of showing the director his options. Thanks Again

We are shooting a concert type video and the musicians, especially the drummers will have fast action happening. We want to shoot 24p for the look but I wasn't sure if 30p may be better for the reproduction of that action. Any advice ? Thanks DH

OK that's what I was thinking, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't confused. As I understand it, the video has the pulldown already, then when you ingest to your system you remove the pulldown.(correct me if I'm wrong). Whew, way to heady after a long day. Thanks for the input.

I was going to dub out of a deck, composite or component, I can also come out firewire but that doesn't help going to a deck for their copy, does it? There was no plan to do this originally but now they want want this dub. Dow

Client wants a copy of 24pa material I shot, if I dub it straight out are they getting 24 frame material or 29.97? And if they want 29.97 do I need to run it into my editor , convert then dub out? Thanks, just having a long day.

Yeh I had heard of some problems but only from one user. I know with my beta rigs you pick a tape and stick with it. Thanks for the input.

Just wondering if anyone has had bad experiences with any one brand of tape with the 100A.

Well it sure isn't easily bypassed. I called Roger Macie (he set it up for me as he does all my Beta gear) and he hasn't run into this problem so he refered me to you. I know you think I'm crazy but it just will not work again. You said you tried your camera but did you lock it then go back and unlock it? Something is either wrong or there are other buttons that need to be pushed to get this unlocked. I really appreciate you finding an answer, for now it's not a problem I have a shoot with it on Sunday but I happened to lock it in the mode I'll be shooting in, thank God, but I'll need a fix. Jan, I tried it again, and I know it sounds crazy but the option menu will not come up. It worked when I locked it. I did just that, hold the light button down and briefly hit the menu button. It did it once but it got stupid or something. Is there another way around this? Thanks Dow

Yep, I've done that and it got me to the menu, where I changed it to lock, then I went back to unlock it and I can't get the options menu back. I've tried short pushes, long pushes on the menu button, nothing seems to work. Dow

I locked the menu items and now can't unlock it, using the directions in Goodmans Guide , I don't have the main manual with me so can anyone tell me how to unlock the ENG security option? Dow
