  1. It's the Eterna stock. The project was supposed to be shot about 4 months ago with a different DP but fell through. I was brought on a few weeks ago, so all the stock was ordered. The director saw some very high contrast footage I shot on 7222 and wanted me to replicate the look but in color. I have no real problems with fuji, i've seen some nice stuff but it's not the stock I would have chosen. Not that I can really replicate the look of 7222 with color film anyway.
  2. Hi, I?ll be shooting a short S16 film in the next few days and I?m forced into shooting Fuji 250T. I?m completely unfamiliar with this stock and some test footage I shot will not be available before I shoot. So I have a few questions: 1. What kind of latitude am I looking at with the 250T? 2. What kind o latitude do I have if I push-it a stop? (The director wants a lot of contrast) 3. How does the grain look if pushed a stop? (A subjective question, I know) The film will mostly be shown on DVD with a few big screen showings from a MiniDV deck. Thanks Sorry, I didn't mean to put this in the lighting section.
  3. Thanks Michael. I didn't realize it was something you could see in the viewfinder. I was scared that I would get the film back and suddenly see it.
  4. Hi All, I?m shooting a film on super-16 and I would like to use a black net on the back of the lens. I?ll be using Zeiss 35mm Super Speeds (18, 25, 50, 85) and a Zeiss 10-100. Unfortunately I won?t have the ability to test this and I?m concerned about seeing the net. Does anyone know what f-stop I should be working at so as to not see the net? Thanks
  5. Thanks for the help everyone. The car will be about 90ft out. The scene is a 2 car accident with one car framed in the foreground, hopefully the audience will figure out that the other two lights are a car. I'm going to do the fake rig though, seems like the best way to go about this. Actually putting a car out there is out of the question. There is too much brush and I'm using classic cars, the risk of damage is too great.
  6. Hi, I?m shooting a film on 7222 next week and I need a shot of a ?car? way off in a ditch. I wanted to fake it by using lights to replicate the taillights. What is the best way to go about this? Is simply putting up two parallel lights (presumably 1Ks) enough? Since I?m shooting B+W is there some sort of gel/diffusion that would give me a more realistic effect? Thanks.
