  1. The shows are distributed both online and to a digital tv station called motorstv, i create WMV's at 25p for the online content (which looks great) and for the TV coverage they have specific Quick time SD files they require which again are easily made. The question i had was more about the actual difference between 25p and 50p? and probably which would be better for shooting fast car racing, the 25p is doing a very good job for me at the moment, it was more out of curiosity if 50p might be better or worse? cheers Louie
  2. Hi Guys, First time posting on this forum, bur been a member a while and constantly use it for tips for my camera. i shoot wit the GY-HD111 PAL area and i was just wondering about a few things. I do a lot of motor racing tv shows with a 5-6 camera set-up all jVC GY-HD 111's. At the moment i have had them all shooting 720/25p and the images look great especially when my cameramen follow the action correctly. i know 25p is very nice when action or movement is followed correctly, otherwise static shots create a blurred car when it passes through said shot. i was just questioning the need for 50p and should i consider this. What are the pro's and con's of 25p and 50p in ProHD 720????? Please advise and thanks for the help Cheers Louie
  3. cool tim thanks for the info, i'll test your suggestions out.
  4. Hey guys, some help please, just finished today shooting a couple of scenes for a short i'm currently directing. noticed two dead pixel's in the stuff we shot in the morning in a bowling ally, probably will be able to cut around the issue in the edit. i eventually noticed the issue later on in the day, and solved it with the PIXEL COMPENSATION secret menu in the camera, worked a treat. My only issue now is any possibilities to disguise or hide the current dead pixel's on footage i have shot already, and can't really do any re-shoots of these scenes? please help. Also, recording sound with a sound device 302 xlr to camera input, that's recording sound straight to tape. our sound guy is pretty inexperienced(last minute problem with the guy we originally had) and listening back to the stuff from earlier it seems to distort even though the levels on the camera appear to never hit the red, they stay mostly white and into the yellow on the camera levels. would keeping the camera levels near minimum help to solve this problem and the mixer can dictate the rest. what i did notice is that even with screaming noises, the level never seems to distort when set at below the yellow level, in otherwords it's constaly on white. my only worry about this is that people talking quiet may be too quiet. Sound mixing seems pretty difficult with this camera, can anyone help or suggest settings suitable for the current mixer thats connected to the camera????? PLEASE HELP GUYS :D
  5. hey, i'm about to embark on my first short with the JVC GY HD 111 camera and MINI 35 capturing system, just wondering what frame rate people would recommend shooting in and what has looked best from peoples experience, any advie would be excellent and a great help. One question my DP had was weather or not the mini 35 will have problems shooting in Progressive as opposed to Interlaced. Personally i want progressive because i want to achieve that film look........ also is it essential to have a full HD monitor with the camera on the shoot i.e. for focus etc. cheers guys, hope someone has some great advice for me LOUIE :D
