  1. everything was fixed manually. The DP over-exposed her heavily (as you can see). It was originally done on purpose, or so i've been told, but they want to lessen it. I've got some filters now that are supposed to do it. Any advice is still welcome. mike
  2. Hi, I'm trying to edit a music video. It was shot HD on the Panasonic HVX. The footage I received had superwhite on it. I've corrected it to get the whites broadcast safe, but now the directors have decided they want to get rid of the white burn on the side of a person's face. I can't figure out what to do, so I was hoping someone could help me. i've uploaded a screen capture to show you what I mean. Mike
  3. I'm trying to put together my first gaffing kit. I'd like some advice on what the essentials of a good gaffing kit are. What I need as opposed to what I want to put in it. Thanks, mike
  4. sorry, without much color. I'm still getting the hang of explaining things properly. From what I understand he wants everything very drab, with little color. I hope that's a little better explanation. Also, he's shooting on HDV. Mike
  5. Greetings, I'm doing the lighting for a small production and the DP wants me to light the first half of the movie as grey to symbolize his depression. As this is my first real production job lighting, I'm nervous as hell and want some opinions on how to do this? I was thinking key lighting from the top with some small lights from the side to do a little fill, but to keep things darker on the bottom of people's faces. Any ideas? Am I compeletely off?
  6. "If any of you are shooting in Toronto I can recomend Michael as a hard working and reliable, grip, gaffer assistant, PA, what ever. He can also edit." Just want to make sure people saw that. Now if only everyone thought like Richard, then I might actually get some work. (and I AM that good :) ) Can't wait to see the film Richard and I agree that instead of the junk heap, you might want to shop it around. I've seen some BAD films in my time and I think DR looks much much better. (and when you're famous, remember the little barrie people)
  7. Have to say Richard, I like the trailer and I think it'll do well. (although I might be a little biased) -mike
