simulating sunlight in small spaces
Juan Guajardo replied to Michael Jasen's topic in Lighting for Film & Video
Use a mirror and direct your fixtures to it, the beam will be much more hard and with sharper shadows cause the mirror will you will increase the distance between the source and the subject (well at least more than what you can put a fresenel or a Par in the space of the room) ------------------------------------- Deja-Vu (Lol) sorry. -

Deakins was great with "The Assasination of Jesse James" and "No country for old men", Kamisnki has the credit for translate the feeling of the character to images in"The diving bell and the butterfly" but i was astonish with "Atonement", seriously i don't know who will win, oh and "There will be blood", just impressive!, great nomenees clearly my choices for this year. My Choice Janusz kaminski for "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly".

fluorescent lamp and flickering
Juan Guajardo replied to Scottie Mei's topic in Lighting for Film & Video
Warm White is about 3000k to 3500k and Cool Withe is 4100k to 4200k and meaby add some CC15G for a greenish look for the shutter remember that over 1/60 you will have flickering so it must be on 144° or less. -

"The Illusionist and The Prestige" are the top of the oscars nominees for best cinematography. "Children of men" a good one too but my favourite is The Illusionist. Where are the nominations for Babel and Marie Antoinette? -
