  1. If shooting in deserts or jungles bring antibiotics. If working off-path bring snake resistant leggings and footwear. If sleeping on the ground best to bring your own tent that can be zipped from the inside.
  2. Los Angeles company training techs for virtual reality camera platforms. The work includes prepping the equipment and operating it on the set. Techs would be employees of the production company and would work at "tech daily" rate set by IATSE Local 600. Contact is: pcjevo@gmail.com Evo Stabilized, Inc.
  3. Anyone have have views purchasing video transmitters state of the art? Also, what are the important things to consider in deciding on a purchase of transmitters these days, including the options for high end transmitters.
  4. Visiting the rental house, offering to help, making your presence know. Even if you are washing employees cars or delivering things for the company or sweeping the floor. Radiant Images is one of my favorite rental houses, a wonderful group of people, all very helpful and good people. You might talk with "MIKE". incredibly nice company.
  5. Making a mistake on your own project is a fantastic learning opportunity, it is all part of the process of becoming a film maker. Learning to bounce back and to continue without recriminations - that's the key.
  6. <<"microscopic risk" >> Really? I don't know what you're talking about. And I don't know of anyone in this business who has worked on features or TV who has not seen accidents and dismemberment or been personally asked to do shots that they said they would not do because they were dangerous. << one works on the information one has been given.>> If I worked on information I'd "been given" I would be dead. Most people I know rely on their own judgement. << which is why I'm usually very well prepared if things go south>> What do you mean "well prepared". Peter Jensen - Los Angeles
  7. << It's all very fuzzy, especially on small productions where many hats are warn, but I believe you should accept the full consequential responsibility of a position if you decide to take even a part role in that position. Anything less equates to no one having responsibility...>> Forming a "prayer circle" was disasterous. All of these crew members were supposed to be professional. But they failed themselves and their crew. Peter Jensen - camera - Los Angeles
  8. Why single out certain people for blame. Everbody was doing it.
  9. <Also, whenever a misconception arises about your product, it is a good idea to put up a short video to show how your product works and refute the statement. Just responding to someone's statement, saying the person is wrong, and have never seen it etc etc only results in engaging the person in war of words. It spreads negativity. So it may be better to put up a small video and all of us will appreciate your work. > Sabyasachi, All good thoughts. I agree completely. But equipment talk pales in comparison to the Leopards on your web site www.indiawild.com. I look at them moving around on those rocks - never seen animals in captivity like that. Amazing. Best, Peter Jensen
  10. You are wrong. The EVO is silent. Obviously you've never seen it.
  11. I've finished a new tool, a small hand held stabilized head - very light and compact and stable and smooth operating, small enough to be passed through open car window. www.evoheads.com Best, Peter Jensen (SOC) Los Angeles, Ca. pj@evoheads.com
  12. Anyone know specifics of what companies insure for drones and how much it costs? Does the insurance package carried by the production cover UAV suppliers and operators (1st AC) who are employed by the production company?
  13. I've completed a small very light weight hand held stabilized head, works great with the C300 and it is a unique capability.. It is really good for long lens shots that are hand held, it can either be very stable or you can add as much expression as you want. It enables hand-held with long lens to be very "expressive" - and very dynamic. www.EvoHeads.com Peter Jensen Los Angeles, Ca. pj@evoheads.com
  14. Does anyone have recommendations about good web sites for script writers involving such topics as selling, etc.
  15. Documentaries can put you in amazing situations. When I was a film student at UCLA covering the California Primary election in 1968 and I found myself outside the Ambassador Hotel the night of the RFK assasination - I carefully observed every detail and came away with some serious questions. Nothing can match being out in the world in a documentary situation when things happen.
