  1. Hey, Another reason S16 appeals to me is it is closer to 16:9 that the 1.33:1 that standard 16mm uses and someone on this board says it fits into a 16:9 frame nicely in post production. Chris
  2. Hey, What do you mean by this? Are you saying it is no good? I wouldn't mind hearing some frist hand info on this. Chris
  3. Sorry... forgot to include that I was using a shooting ratio of 4:1 as my method of calculation. Chris
  4. Landon, Give that I have done the math if 16mm colour negative is $50.00 CDN a roll @ 100 feet each then a 1 hour 20 minute feature at a shooting ratio would be over $5400.00 This does not include taxes or shipping. That is more in film stock than a new Panasonic DVX-100a costs! Is it worth it? I was interested in Super 16 because of how much closer it looks to 35mill... What would an Arri S16 cost me used? Is there anything else I should be considering? What does it cost to develop and transfer from S16 to MiniDV? Chris
  5. Hey, Gilmore Girls is/was shot on Super 16? Chris
  6. Hey, I am an amateur here (naturally). How much does 16mm film stock cost for a Super 16mm shoot? Do Super 16 camera uses standard 16mm film or do they use Super 16 stock (is there such thing). I am in Canada and am wondering what it is going to cost me per 100 feet. Chris PS: What type do I need/speed? I am producing a girly, chick flick romance/drama.
  7. Hey, I am seeking a D.P. for my first digital feature called "A LIFE TO LOVE". This feature is a Christian-based story that will be shot in a remote area of Ontario, Canada (Northern Ontario). The exact length of this assignment is not yet known as I have not secured funding as of yet. The script is just being finalized. You work for meals, screen credit and a final copy of the production (DVD). You will be provided a travelling allowance (both ways) as well as provided with a place to stay during the shoot. This assignment may appeal to film school grads or similar individuals. We will be shooting on 3CCD MiniDV Camcorders. If interested mail me your resume to: BELIEF PICTURES 442 Elizabeth Street Sault Ste Marie, Ontario P6B3H6 Please also include a showcase reel of your work on MiniDV or DVD. I can be reached via e-mail as well at: chris@beliefpictures.ca
