  1. Hi Richard. I also have an unfulfilled Orwo order from Dec 15th. It’s only 4 x 100ft rolls but still irritating. Hopefully you will get yours fulfilled soon. Cheers.
  2. Thank you very much. I suspected that the optics were different. Thanks for clearing this up. I will check out the EBay listing.
  3. Quick question for an expert. Is it possible for a Switar AR lens to be converted or collimated into an RX version that will work with the Bolex reflex prism? The lens in question is a Switar 16mm 1.8 AR. Thank you.

  5. Color reversal. Surprised Chicago doesn't offer reversal processing. Thanks for the info.
  6. Looking for a Lab in Chicago that will process 16mm color reversal. It looks like I may have to ship to New York or Seattle. Any ideas? Thanks.
  7. Hey, does anyone know where I can get that kick ass Cylon voice from the TV show? I have not been able to duplicate it accurately.
  8. Last year I emailed Bolex in Switzerland about this conversion and their reply was; ' The Bolex M camera cannot be modified to Super 16.' I then talked to JK camera (in the states) who said they would be happy to give it a shot. I wanted this camera for time lapse photography, but then figured out how to use my already converted EBM for the same purposes, and abandoned the quest. JK camera sounded enthused about the project, call them.
  9. Please excuse my lack of experience in asking this question. I am interested in push processing 5218 2 stops to create a look similar to 'Eyes Wide Shut'. (blown out highlights, etc.) My question is; will a print, pushed 2 stops from a negative that was processed normally, look the same as a print exposed normally from a negative that was pushed 2 stops during processing? Bad question? One has to learn somehow. thank you.
  10. you can try Procam in Arizona; http://www.bolex-usa.com/ He should be able to hook you up with replacement battery or new battery system.
  11. I rented a car for an 'escape' scene where the actress kicked the passenger window out. I had paid for the insurance and when I returned the car, no one even blinked. My mental state was so warped at the time, that it seemed like a rational option, (major sleep deprevation). I would never recommend this type of behavior, unless you know you won't get caught. Then I would recommend it completely.
  12. Yes, it fully covers Super-16 and is sharp. It's also my favorite lens for 'run and gun' style shooting. For fun, I sometimes use this bad boy with a regular 16 Bolex M camera, (which has no viewfinder). Since the entire depth of field is in focus, I just point it in the general direction I want, and shoot. I am always surprised by how good this 'blind man' footage turns out.
  13. I also own a Super-16 Bolex EBM and use a Kinoptik 5.7mm TEGEA (in a c-mount). I have had great results with this lens.
  14. That was all acting by the dog - fantastic. Stunt dogs from that era were skilled professionals who could perform these astonishing feats in their sleep. Today, these dogs are overpaid prima donnas who show up to the set late and often intoxicated. A real shame.
